Hi,
It's Chris Muska here.
I have an offering for you,
Something that I've been doing for a long time since I was a kid,
A grounding exercise.
Just a simple thing that we can do,
Kind of constantly throughout the day to help ground ourselves,
Steady ourselves in our stance and then that helps us with our breath and our thoughts and our words and our actions.
So come to a standing position,
Anywhere and just have your feet hip distance apart.
Just close your eyes.
Just notice your feet on the floor.
Take a few exhales out through your mouth and just start to notice your overall posture.
Now start to lift and spread all 10 of your toes.
Maybe just do that a few times to awaken those toes too.
That might be a not so easy task to do,
Get all of them to lift.
So try a few times.
Wiggle them and then keep all those toes lifted the best you can and just notice the sensation in your feet.
Press down to the four corners of your feet and your big toe mounds,
Your outer pinky toe mounds,
Your outer heels and your inner heels.
Root down and then as you root down with your toes still lifted,
Your feet activated.
Let that energy grow.
Let the earth move up through your legs and your legs find themselves being sturdier,
A little bit more activated,
Energized.
And then let that go all the way up through your torso,
Your heart lifts and the crown of your head lifts up.
But keep focused on that grounding down energy.
And so we ground down so we can rise up.
I love that saying.
And so when you take a moment in your day to ground down,
You can think about it in your mind,
In your breath,
In your words,
In your actions,
You can rise up and you can direct and modify yourself for the better.
Just breathe with this,
With this stance.
As we ground down and rise up and just hold that sensation,
There's space in between that down and the up.
And can you let it go a little right to left and then a little forward and a little backwards so that when you ground yourself and then you grow yourself,
You allow yourself actually to radiate more.
And as you feel this,
As you experience this within your body,
Within your mind's eye,
Breathe in gently and fully.
And that's it.
That's the simple grounding exercise,
A real little ritual that you can remind yourself to do.
And you can really do this anywhere.
You can do it even so simply that you just remind yourself to press your feet down,
Stand tall,
Grow upwards and breathe a little deeply.
And it can become this little secret tool that you use throughout your day to help you be steadier and be calmer,
Be sturdier.
Thanks for listening.
I hope you enjoyed this.
Have a great rest of your day.
