I wonder if it's possible to allow yourself to imagine now.
Beautiful forest.
It's a crisp autumn day.
This dazzling sun reflecting on a small stream.
It runs along the edge of a forest.
You know this forest.
Feel drawn to it.
And as you tread carefully over crackling red and golden leaves and broken twigs,
Noticing the leaves that are scattered across the ground.
You're noticing the movement of birds and parrots in the trees.
The king parrot moving up through the branches.
It's very peaceful here in the forest.
There's clusters of flowers and soft green moss.
And the deeper you move into it,
The stronger the smell of eucalypt.
And the deeper you move into it,
The deeper that feeling of relaxation.
You're falling deeply into a calm and tranquil feeling in your heart.
And as you watch a leaf falling from a tree,
As it dances and twirls in the air,
For fluttering slowly down to rest with the others.
You pause for a moment and rest against an old oak tree.
You can feel the rough bark of the tree against your fingertips.
Smell the earthy ground and soft leaf mold.
Mushrooms are scattered here.
And even as you're resting here against the rough bark of the tree,
You can feel the softness of the leaves.
And as you're resting against the rough bark of the tree,
You can feel a deep sense of peacefulness in this beautiful place.
And this deep sense of peacefulness is growing and developing within you.
And just as that oak tree stands alone,
Surrounded by thousands of eucalypts,
Stands strong in its difference.
It's growing stronger and stronger each and every day.
And each and every day,
You're growing stronger and stronger.
As strong as an old oak tree,
Stronger and stronger each and every day.
Because your body knows how to relax.
And relaxing like this brings you closer to nature and all the wonderful resources that are deep,
Deep in your soul.
And as you lie there,
Your mind in your beautiful forest,
You can let the words calm and relaxed repeat themselves in your mind.
Slowly,
Softly,
Soothingly,
Over and over.
Calm and relaxed,
Calm and relaxed.
And each repetition of those words help you to feel more calm and relaxed.
You now let the words calm and relaxed flow down out of your mind,
Out of your mind and throughout your entire body.
Calm and relaxed,
As if they're flowing in your bloodstream.
Just like the sap flowing through that oak tree to all parts of your body.
Strengthening,
Healing,
Nourishing,
Calming,
Relaxing,
Soothing.
Feeling stronger and more confident with every passing moment,
With every breath that you take.
As the words calm and relaxed flow throughout your body.
Feeding,
Strengthening,
And calming your body and your mind.
And realizing within yourself that you're now using your own resources to strengthen and calm yourself.
Enabling you to remain strong and calm.
Strong and calm,
Even when under stress.
And all that I'm doing is helping you learn how to focus your concentration for your own benefit.
And as you continue to smell and see and feel the forest around you,
I'm talking to your subconscious mind.
And now that you are aware of your ability to strengthen and nourish yourself,
This process continues even when you're not aware of it.
Just as an underground river continues to flow,
Strong and sure,
Pure,
Even when you're standing on the ground and are unaware of it.
Unaware of it.
Just as a flower continues to grow,
Even though you can't see the growth from moment to moment.
Just as a tree continues to grow,
Strong and steady.
And the growth and strengthening within you continues to develop.
Increasing your self-confidence,
Your self-appreciation,
And self-acceptance.
Experiencing the freedom to make health changes in your lifestyle,
And the opportunity for the future to be different from the past or present.
As you trust that this process of healing and growth continues to improve in all areas of your life,
And there's a tremendous amount of learning that you have acquired throughout your lifetime of experience in developing anesthesia throughout your entire body.
And as you sit and listen to me now,
You might have forgotten what it feels like to wear shoes on your feet,
Or socks on your feet.
And now you remember that feeling.
You may have forgotten what it feels like to wear clothes on your chest.
And now you can feel them.
You've forgotten what it feels like to wear a necklace around your neck.
Now you may feel it.
You listen,
You listen to a story,
And perhaps forget about the hardness of the chair.
But it happens to be a very long,
Boring story.
The chair feels so utterly uncomfortable.
You sense those things.
We've all had tremendous experience in developing anesthesia in all parts of our bodies.
So how did you learn to have anesthesia for the shoes on your feet?
In your lifelong learning,
You acquired the automatic ability to turn off sensations and to turn them on again.
And now as you begin to think about other things,
And you can progressively feel better and better.
And I wonder if you can see yourself sitting on a tropical beach at sunset,
Noticing the bright red sun as it descends on the far horizon.
See colors begin to change from orange to crimson,
And then a deep,
Dark red-orange.
Notice that as the sun approaches the water,
There actually seems to be two suns,
One in the sky and one in the water.
See the sun gradually sink into the ocean.
Notice the colors change from red to purple,
And then to blue.
Notice that magical stillness pervades everything just at sunset,
When the ocean is as smooth as glass,
And sounds travel forever.
You might even imagine or sense that delicious feeling of tranquility.
Tranquility is available to you whenever you need it.
In a moment's notice,
Merely by giving yourself your own personal signal to relax,
Calm and relax.
And perhaps you might enjoy letting your finger and thumb come together to be your sign,
Your own special sign to experience immediate relaxation whenever you choose to employ it.
And perhaps you could imagine your own personal angel standing beside the bed and may place its hands on any painful areas.
You may even imagine that their hand in that area of discomfort,
And that touch is warm and is drawing out that discomfort,
Slowly and surely reducing,
Being pulled away from your body by that healing touch.
And that touch is healing and reducing any discomfort in that area.
And that touch is bringing healing to that area.
And your own personal angel can be there whenever you need it,
Just by bringing your finger and thumb together,
Imagining that hand drawing away all pain and discomfort.
And as you connect to your own special healing angel,
Breathing in that sense of peace deep into your heart,
Breathing in that sense of deep gratitude into your heart for this moment of connection,
This moment of healing,
This moment of deep,
Deep relaxation.
You are safe in this moment.
And it's safe to allow this healing in every cell in your body,
In your bones,
In your blood,
And your emotional health and well-being.
You are safe in this moment,
And it's safe to relax deeply now,
Calm and relaxed,
Flowing through every vein,
To every cell,
Allowing this healing to take place.
And trusting that your guides and angels are there with you whenever you sleep,
Calm and relaxed,
Flowing through your veins,
Flowing through your bones,
Calm and relaxed,
And drifting off to sleep,
Allowing your body to heal deeply now,
Calm and relaxed,
Drifting off to sleep,
Trusting that you are surrounded by love and light and peace.
It's safe to sleep deeply now.
