I am so glad you found this.
Whatever brought you here.
Whatever is making your chest tight or your mind race or your body feel like it can't quite settle.
You are in the right place.
You are welcome here.
We are going to use your breath because your breath is always there.
It's always available.
And it's one of the most powerful tools you have for telling your nervous system,
I am safe.
I am OK.
I can slow down.
If it feels safe in this moment,
Close your eyes.
And if not,
Soften your gaze to one fixed point.
Place one hand on your chest.
And one hand on your belly.
And feel the breath moving beneath your hands in and out.
And.
.
.
And out.
Don't change it yet.
Just notice it moving in and out.
In.
.
.
And out.
Feel the movement in your hands,
Feel the movement in your body.
Slowly,
We are going to extend the exhale because a longer exhale activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
It sends a direct signal to the body that it is safe to rest.
It's safe to slow down.
It's safe to stop preparing for something that hasn't happened yet.
Breathe in through your nose for 4,
3,
2,
1 and breathe out of the mouth for 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Breathe in again 4,
3,
2,
1 and breathing out for 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
And 1.
Breathing in 4,
3,
2,
1.
Breathing out slowly 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Once more in 4,
3,
2,
1.
And exhale 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Return back to the natural rhythm of your breath.
Notice already what has changed even slightly.
A little bit more space.
This is your nervous system responding to the signals your breath just sent it.
Whatever is worrying you,
It's not happening now in this moment.
In this moment there is only breath.
There is only the inhale.
And there is only the exhale.
There is only the inhale.
And there is only the exhale.
Please come back here whenever the anxiety arrives.
Breathing in four,
Breathing out eight.
It will work every single time.
Be well,
Beautiful soul,
Be well.
