
Self Love Guided Meditation

Hello,
I am Shireen and thank you for listening.
Today's meditation focuses on a really special topic,
Self-love.
Self-love is a huge conversation and often brings up a lot of emotion for many people so I really wanted to clarify what I mean when I speak about self-love and help guide you towards the special space that exists within each of us.
When I speak of self-love I do not necessarily mean loving yourself.
When I mention self-love I mean that the essence of who you are and what makes up yourself is love.
Self-love is the opposite state to ego.
Whereas ego represents your fears and insecurities and comes from your mind,
Self-love defines your authentic self which resides in the wisdom of your heart.
So self-love is about connecting to this warm and nurturing space within and when you feel connected to this powerful source of energy you feel calm,
Centered,
Balanced and empowered.
This connection helps you move past the voice of self-doubt,
Move past stress and anxiety and takes you into your heart which will instantly relax your body,
Calm your mind and ignite your true essence and empowered self.
So let's begin today's special self-love meditation.
Begin by getting into a comfortable position either lying down or sitting comfortably and I'm gonna ask you to place one hand over your heart center and one hand over your belly and just bring all your awareness and energy into this very moment and closing your eyelids gently help your mind come into this present moment by focusing on that space behind your eyelids.
Allow your thoughts to quieten as the mind focuses completely on that space behind your eyelids.
Firstly notice that there is a space behind your eyelids and as if you're watching a screen notice what is on your screen.
Notice moment to moment changes,
Colors,
Lights,
Shapes,
Images.
Simply observe what's on your screen.
No story,
No judgment,
No meaning.
Simply observe.
And as you're observing that space imagine diving into that space.
Imagine it pulling you inwards like a vortex and as you dive into that space imagine diving into your body and just feel yourself journeying into your body.
Traveling through your body becoming fully present with your body weight,
The sensations in your body.
Imagine yourself journeying through your body and as you're journeying through your body locate your breath and feel the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
Feel the rise of the inhale and feel the fall of the exhale breath.
And connect to the feeling of your breath moving through your body as you trace your breath up and down the body.
Feeling the lightness of your breath moving through your body.
Feel your breath softening your body.
With every breath cycle connect more to your body.
Feeling a connection between the mind and the body through your breath.
And as you focus on the exhale breath allow the exhale breath to soften and relax your body.
As you scan through your body starting all the way at the top of your head just soften anywhere you're holding tension.
Soften your mind,
Your face,
Your jaw,
Your eyes.
Soften your shoulders.
Feel your shoulder blades soften and surrender.
Feel your arms soften in your hands.
No tension anywhere in your body completely softening and releasing any tension in your body.
Soften around your chest.
Soften your belly.
Soften your spine.
Soften all the way down your pelvis.
Soften your hips,
Your glutes.
Soften your legs all the way down.
Around your knees,
Your lower legs.
Soften the feet.
Feel your whole body relaxed.
The only thing moving through your body is your breath.
And feel the lightness of your breath move through your body.
And I want you to take yourself now to a time where you felt complete joy and happiness.
Just imagine that time now feeling joy,
Happiness,
Peace,
Expansiveness.
Just feeling a beautiful lightness in your body.
Take yourself to that time right now and visualize it in your mind's eye.
See yourself.
Notice where you are.
Notice who you're with.
And feel that joy through your body.
And in particular,
As you're feeling that joy,
Bring your awareness to your heart space.
Feel that joy in your heart.
Feel that feeling of joy.
Notice how that feels in your body.
Notice how that feels in your heart.
And I want you to imagine traveling into that feeling and notice how it feels.
Notice the warmth of that feeling,
The peace and the safety of that feeling in your body,
The comfort as if you've come home.
Feel that feeling.
Imagine traveling into that feeling and feel that in your body.
That warmth.
Imagine giving it a light.
Feel that light in your body and see it swirling around your body.
That light,
That warmth,
That is the core of who you are.
That is your essence.
The essence of who you are,
Your unique makeup.
Notice this energy inside of you.
That energy is pure love.
And feel that energy as pure,
Universal,
Unconditional love.
Feel that energy swirling and buzzing and warm through your body.
Feel the connection to that energy.
That is the same energy that breathes into each and every one of us.
The same energy that makes up everything around us in our universe.
Same energy that links us and connects us.
And feel that connection.
Feel that love through your body.
That feeling,
That love,
That warmth,
That light that lets you know that the innermost core of yourself is love.
That is self-love.
Feel that energy moving through your body.
Imagine that you have a dial and you can turn up that feeling as you focus on it.
It expands and as you breathe into it,
It builds and intensifies.
It becomes warmer and brighter and it moves all the way through your body.
And feel your whole body being filled with self-love.
You can feel yourself expanding,
Becoming more and more empowered as you fill your body with this self-love.
Feel it building,
Feel it growing,
Feel it filling every single space within your body.
Move it into your cells.
Move it all around your body and feel your heart filled with it.
Feel your belly filled with self-love.
Feel it in your spine and your legs as it makes you feel strong and full.
And as you fill your body with this self-love,
Notice that you feel whole and complete,
Perfect exactly how you are.
Notice the strength that you feel when you are filled with self-love.
Notice the courage,
The wisdom,
The trust,
The confidence.
Notice the passion and enthusiasm.
Notice the happiness you feel right now.
Notice the peace.
Notice the clarity.
And just spend a few moments enjoying the fulfillment of this energy fueled through your body.
Focus on it more and allow it to build,
Remembering that the inner core of yourself is love.
And when you connect with love,
You find your power,
Your source power that allows you to thrive and expand and have great joy in your life and fill your whole body,
Fill your mind with this love,
Fill your mind with this clarity.
Notice how empowered you are.
Enjoy this energy for a few more breaths.
And anytime the mind interferes,
Anytime ego pops up its head,
Anytime you feel stress and your anxiety,
You return to this place within yourself.
Return to self-love.
Return to the clarity,
The warmth,
The light.
And remember who you truly are and what you are truly made of.
The essence of who you are,
The essence of yourself is love.
Feel that in your breath.
Feel your breath moving this energy.
You can feel your heart and belly tingling to your hands.
Feel the power of that connection.
Feel the stillness of your mind.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Feel the power of that connection.
Feel the power of that connection.

Thank you for the reminder of feeling the calm within. Some days I struggle through my tasks because I don't do them through love. This meditation was a reminder, at a time that I am experiencing lots of changes in my life, that I need to go with the flow. I am going to go throughout my day thinking of love and being grateful rather than feeling overwhelmed. Thank you.
