Welcome to this short relaxation meditation. The more your unconscious mind has permission to allow memories, thoughts and feelings to let go, the more it changes the way you feel. This meditation uses an intention of “this too shall pass” to help you transition into a calmer and more content state.

Transcript

Welcome to this relaxation meditation.

Making yourself comfortable,

Just gently softening down your gaze.

Eyes can now close and relax.

Dropping your shoulders,

Taking a gentle deep breath in.

And a slow exhale out.

Placing a hand on your heart.

Reciting these words silently in your mind.

This too shall pass.

This too shall pass.

Feeling your heart accept this mantra and have hope.

Taking another deep breath in here and slow exhale out.

This too shall pass.

I see you and I'm with you.

Feel the relaxation in your forehead.

The softening of the brow.

Another beautiful deep breath in here and slow exhale out.

This too shall pass.

Feel the difference here in your body.

The softening of your chest.

This too shall pass.

Be gentle.

Relaxing and letting go.

Notice how this has changed the way that you feel.

The more the unconscious mind has permission to allow those memories,

Thoughts and feelings to let go,

The more it changes the way you feel.

Remember that you can use this technique anywhere and at any point wherever it's safe to close down your eyes.

Coming back now to the moment.

Wiggling your fingers,

Your toes,

Having a gentle stretch and just opening up your eyes.

Relaxed,

Smiling,

Happy and content.

This practice led me to experience more inner calm than I expected. Initially I was hesitant, due to the “phrase” emphasized in the description. 4 minutes seemed doable and I wanted to feel a sense of calm somehow, so I tried it. I’ve struggled lately to be still, to do seated or closed eye practices. I’m fairly certain this short practice that helps to settling into the body, uses the breath, and guidance including “this too shall pass” spoken with a unique soothing and gentle intonation, is why it ended up being helpful. It did not feel invalidating or minimizing, as many popular “catch phrases” often lead me to feel. Instead I felt soothed, and was smiling at the end, both needed and welcomed. What I do not feel is happy, yet I am grateful this helped. I did not judge myself or this practice when the word “happy” was part of the guided smiling at the end. Chelsea is one of my favorite practitioners found via IT. I highly recommend trying several of her offerings shared here. She is generous with her knowledge, and her support comes from a noticeably genuine place from her heart out into the world. 🙏🏼
