There will be days when we mess up. We might lose our tempers or get too nervous to speak up. When this happens, it can feel disappointing knowing that we haven’t acted like our best selves. Today’s affirmation is about self-encouragement and patience. Mistakes and mishaps happen to everyone. What’s important is that we constantly strive to better ourselves and our actions.

Welcome to Charm Words,

Your daily reminder to be good to yourself and others.

My name's Zola,

And together,

We're going to breathe in the good,

Breathe out the bad,

And use words to remind ourselves of our worth.

There will be days when we mess up.

We might lose our tempers and yell at a friend,

Or get too nervous to speak up in front of the class.

When this happens,

It can feel disappointing,

Knowing that we haven't acted like our best selves.

Today's charm words are about self-encouragement and patience.

Mistakes and mishaps are okay.

They happen to everyone.

What's important is that we constantly strive to better ourselves.

Let's do some belly breathing,

Then we'll do our affirmations.

When you breathe in,

Use your nose and keep your shoulders still.

Once your belly fills up like a balloon,

Breathe out through your mouth by just letting go.

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Ready?

Take a gentle,

Deep breath slowly through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

One more time,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Today's charm words are,

I am working on myself.

I'll say it first,

Then repeat after me.

Ready?

I am working on myself.

I am working on myself.

I am working on myself.

I am working on myself.

I am working on myself.

I am working on myself.

Fantastic.

Giving yourself room to learn from mistakes will help you become the greatest version of yourself.

Let's do a high five.

On the count of three,

High five the person closest to you.

Or clap your hands together and high five yourself.

Ready?

One,

Two,

Three.

These charm words are yours to keep.

So put them in your pocket and take them with you wherever you go.

Building new habits takes time,

So we'll be here every weekday to practice breathing and affirmations together.

See you next time!
