When we’re anxious, our brains tend to assume the worst outcome. Thoughts about the future can feel scary, especially when we have no way of knowing what will happen. Today’s affirmation is about combating our fear of the unknown. We can remind ourselves that positive occurrences exist too, and that they’re much more likely to find us.

Welcome to Charm Words,

Your daily reminder to be good to yourself and others.

My name's Zola,

And together,

We're going to breathe in the good,

Breathe out the bad,

And use words to remind ourselves of our worth.

When we're anxious,

Our brains tend to assume the worst outcome.

Thoughts about the future can feel scary,

Especially when we have no way of knowing what will happen.

Today's Charm Words are about combating our fear of the unknown.

When we're worried,

Our brains jump into a defensive mode.

But that doesn't mean it's always right.

We can remind ourselves that positive occurrences exist too,

And that they're much more likely to find us.

Let's do some belly breathing,

Then we'll do our affirmations.

When you breathe in,

Use your nose and keep your shoulders still.

Once your belly fills up like a balloon,

Breathe out through your mouth by just letting go.

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Ready?

Take a gentle,

Deep breath slowly through your nose,

And breathe out through your mouth.

In through your nose,

And out through your mouth.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

One more time,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Today's Charm Words are,

Good things are going to come to me.

I'll say it first,

Then repeat after me.

Ready?

Good things are going to come to me.

Good things are going to come to me.

Good things are going to come to me.

Good things are going to come to me.

Good things are going to come to me.

Good things are going to come to me.

Challenging our negative thoughts can help us feel calm and secure.

And if we ever need reassurance,

It's okay to ask a loved one for some too.

On the count of three,

High five the person closest to you or clap your hands together and high five yourself.

Ready?

One,

Two,

Three.

These Charm Words are yours to keep.

So put them in your pocket and take them with you wherever you go.

You can find us at Charmwords.

Com and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.

Building new habits takes time,

So we'll be here every weekday to practice breathing and affirmations together.

See you next time!
