Welcome to meditation number 12 for mindful growth.
This is a meditation on setting our intention.
This meditation will help you to act in ways that align with your core values,
Acting with integrity.
This is a source of natural self-confidence and helps you to feel like you can be yourself.
To get started make sure you have a comfortable meditation posture with a straight back,
Eyes gently closed,
Shoulders relaxed naturally at your sides.
We can begin with a few deep breaths in and out,
Allowing ourselves to settle into our chair or cushion,
Feeling all of our busy or distracting thoughts melt away.
And then we resume breathing normally and center our attention on the sensation of our breath.
Finding those familiar sensations as we breathe in and out.
And allowing our mind to become absorbed in the sensation.
Moment by moment just remaining in the present with our breath.
Releasing any pockets of tension that we find.
And then beginning our meditation on setting our intention to begin our analytical meditation.
We contemplate our values,
The personal qualities that we would most like to embody to be true to.
Choose one of those values or qualities that feels the most relevant for today.
And now call to mind some examples of this value or quality.
This could be others that you admire and their actions that demonstrate this quality.
Or it could be your own actions in the past that adhere to this value.
So call into mind some examples of what this looks like.
And then contemplating why this value or quality is important to us.
What are the positive results that are created as part of embodying this quality or value?
Contemplating why this value is important to us.
In particular the benefit that it brings to ourself and those around us.
By combining what this value or quality looks like in action,
As well as why it is important,
The positive results or benefits that it creates.
We naturally generate a strong intention to act in accordance with this value or personal quality.
Trying to feel this strong intention that from now on we will act with integrity aligned with this core value.
Feeling like this is a deep level of why behind what we will do once we have this strong intention in our mind we now hold it in placement meditation.
Stopping our contemplation just trying to remain with that feeling strong intention.
Stopping our contemplation just trying to remain with that feeling strong intention.
Stopping our contemplation just trying to remain with that feeling strong intention.
If our intention begins to fade or we become distracted,
We can try to bring it back using the phrase,
From now on I will.
And then finishing that with the core value that we'd like to act in accordance with.
Briefly remembering examples or the positive results to help strengthen that feeling.
And then for the final two minutes of this meditation,
Trying to hold the strong intention within our mind with as little distraction as possible.
And finally,
Without forgetting this intention,
We can slowly relax our attention,
Allow ourselves to arise from our meditation.
And that concludes meditation number 12 for mindful growth.
