In Zen. The mind includes everything. The clouds. And the sky. And the sun. And the moon. So in a moment I'll tell an old Zen story to reflect this vast mind. These stories are not meant to fill the mind. They are meant. To empty it. And here's the story. A Zen student and teacher were walking along the beach. And the student asked. What is Zen Mind? And the teacher replies. Tell me what you see. The student says. I see the beach. The teacher responds, Well, What's the background of the beach? The Ocean. And what's the background of the ocean? The Sky. Now, What's the background of the sky? I don't know. And then the teacher says, The background. Of consciousness. What is the background of the sky? Your mind. Feeling the mind expanding. Expanding infinitely. And being, Just right here. You are everything. And you. Are you. This is Zen Mind. What is the background of the sky?
