Hi everyone,

My name is Kate.

Welcome to this new moon meditation for introspection and new beginnings.

Begin this meditation by finding a comfortable position,

Sitting or lying down in a quiet space where you won't be disturbed.

If you like,

Keep a journal or a notepad close by to jot down any intentions that come up for you during this meditation.

As you begin to settle into your space,

Slowly close your eyes,

Take a deep breath in and then slowly exhale,

Releasing any tension in your body.

Allow your breaths to be gentle but full.

As you inhale,

Allow that breath to move down into the body,

Expanding the belly outwards,

Maybe even feeling some movement in your ribs.

And with your exhalation,

Allow the belly to soften,

Maybe even drawing that navel back towards the spine,

Getting the last of the breath out of the lungs.

Continue with these breaths for a few moments,

Deep and full but easy and relaxed.

Take note of how it feels to breathe in your body today.

Does the breath feel tight,

Stuck,

Perhaps it's even feeling a little bit sticky?

Or maybe the breath feels easy,

Gentle.

Or perhaps you don't notice anything at all,

That is also okay.

For the next few moments just hang out with your breath,

Feeling the flow,

The rhythm of the inhalations and exhalations.

Now as you settle into this moment,

Bring your awareness to the darkness that surrounds you.

The new moon,

A time of no moonlight,

Offers a dark canvas,

A quiet space where potential is limitless.

Rather than fearing this darkness,

Embrace it not as an absence of light but as a soothing,

Peaceful presence,

A fertile ground for introspection and planning.

Visualize this darkness as a protective cloak that envelops you,

Encouraging you to turn inwards.

It's here in this tranquil solitude that you can listen to the whisper of your inner self.

What does it say?

What dreams and desires are stirring within you?

With each breath,

Allow yourself to dive deeper into your own depths.

Take a moment to reflect on the month that has passed.

Acknowledge your experiences,

Your growth and the knowledge that you've gained.

And with every exhale,

Let go of any regrets or disappointments.

Breathe them out into the darkness,

Allowing them to dissolve away.

Now in this space of clarity and release,

Ask yourself,

What am I ready to invite into my life?

Am I ready to invite into my life?

Maybe it's a quality like courage or peace,

Or perhaps a new opportunity,

Relationship.

Allow these thoughts to come without judgment,

Simply observing what arises to the surface of your mind.

Try not to overthink this process too much,

Sit in that stillness of soothing darkness.

What am I ready to invite into my life?

Once your intention is clear,

Imagine it as a seed in your hand.

This seed represents your hopes and desires,

The potential for growth and renewal.

And in your mind's eye,

Plant this seed in the ground of the dark new moon.

Notice it taking root and anchoring itself firmly in the soil.

Focus on the details,

Its size and texture,

And the life force that it holds.

See it beginning to sprout,

Reaching up through the soil towards the surface,

Driven by your intention and nourished by your commitment and attention.

Perhaps the seed begins to bloom,

Sprouting flowers or leaves,

Growing taller and becoming more colorful.

Watch its growth and hold this image in your mind as you very gently begin to bring your awareness back to the present.

Feel the ground beneath you,

The air on your skin,

And slowly start to wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying with you the seed of your intention,

Ready to grow alongside it during each phase of the moon.

Perhaps you would like to take a moment to jot down your intention,

Making it even more concrete.

Keep it somewhere you can see,

To remind you of what you are nurturing into being.

May the seeds that you've planted today grow with you in the coming days.
