Welcome to this full moon meditation for release and renewal.
Find a comfortable place where you can sit quietly,
Then gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,
Filling your lungs with air and slowly exhaling to release any tension from your body.
Allow the rhythm of your breathing to become regulated,
Pulling your inhale through your nose,
Your throat,
Your sides and eventually your belly.
As you exhale,
Let your belly soften back until all the air is out and your body has softened.
As we steady the pace of our breathing,
We can also steady the rhythm of our minds.
With each breath,
Allow your body to relax more deeply,
Your mind to clear and your heart to open.
Feel yourself becoming more present with each breath.
Feel your breath moving through your nostrils,
Filling you with the cooling air under the full moon.
As you breathe,
Allow the muscles of your eyes to soften,
Your jaw to unclench.
Drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth and feel the shoulders fall away from your ears.
Relax,
Relax.
Relax.
Now slowly bring your attention to your speech.
Even as your outer voice is silent,
Be aware of the noise you experience from the outer world.
Be aware of it and then let it go.
Breathe it out.
Be aware of the noise and breathe it out.
Feel the silence in yourself and rest here.
Listen to the silence.
Feel the silence.
Rest in the silence.
There is a deep sense of peace.
Relax,
Relax.
As you settle into this calm state,
Bring your awareness to the full moon.
This luminous orb in the sky,
Fully illuminated,
Represents the accumulation of energy and the peak of clarity.
Feel the bright full moon above you,
Its light enveloping you.
Feel this light as a symbol of spirit,
Of divinity,
Or the universe.
Feel its light infusing your emotional and physical body with awareness and clarity.
Acknowledge the symbolic significance of this moment,
The sun and the moon in opposition and the earth in between.
Imagine the light of the full moon,
Representing awareness,
Shining directly into your emotional and physical self as you bring attention to your heart.
Whatever blockages or pain,
Whatever sense of darkness,
Conflict,
Confusion,
Anxiety,
Or disconnection,
Be aware of that.
Bring the light of awareness into the experience of darkness.
With this illumination of the sun against the moon,
Take note of what surfaces within your emotional body.
What feelings come up,
What behaviors or thoughts are no longer able to hide in the shadows,
In the darkness?
Let the light of the moon reveal these to you without judgment.
Breathe deep and nourishing breaths into your heart space.
And as you release each breath,
Feel your heart opening more and more.
And with your next inhalation,
Allow the soothing light of the full moon into your heart.
With your exhalation,
Let go of any heaviness.
Breathe in the moonlight and exhale the heaviness.
And exhale the heaviness.
Now take a moment to think of what you no longer need in your life.
Beliefs,
Emotions,
Or habits,
And visualize yourself releasing them.
They may take the form of objects or symbols,
Anything that you can release into the sky,
Or perhaps they even evaporate right out of your hands,
Absorbed by the moonlight.
And with the awareness of what needs to be released,
Silently or aloud,
Say to yourself,
I let go of what no longer serves me.
I let go of what no longer serves me.
And imagine each of these burdens being lifted from your shoulders and dissolving into the moonlight,
Leaving you lighter and freer.
As you embrace this process,
Remember that the energies you feel are yours to experience and manage.
Remind yourself that you have the power to govern your reactions and emotions.
Use this time of awareness as an opportunity for growth.
Conclude this meditation by visualizing yourself being renewed,
Ready to start fresh,
And carrying only what benefits you on your journey forward.
When you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes and return to your surroundings,
Carrying with you the insights and clarity gained under the full moon.
