This practice of mindful exploration, related to the "four applications of mindfulness" system, is an invitation to look at the pleasant, unpleasant, and neutral tones of our experience, known as vedanā ("feelings" or "feeling tones"). By carefully observing the changes in the feeling tone related to our bodily experiences, we learn to be less reactive and wiser, which paves the way for further insights into our emotional responses to reality.
