How can you tell when your root chakra is in balance? It’s relatively easy to tell but it’s so important to understand how to get and keep yourself in a balanced state. Today, let's discuss the root chakra and meditate to help us ground!

Good morning!
Namaste!
Welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert.
Today I had a request to talk about the root chakra and grounding.
So how we can get that rolling on.
Right?
Fun,
Fun,
Fun.
Right?
So the root chakra is kind of like your basic needs.
Right?
It sort of represents your first family,
Your nuclear family.
Okay?
The basic things in our lives.
Okay?
The attributes for the root chakra are basically like growth and vitality and you know growth is just to me is the way I always look at the root chakra.
Right?
When this chakra is healthy you feel confident.
You feel strong.
You feel like you belong in the world or with whomever.
Right?
You feel good about your job.
You feel good about your life,
Your family.
All of that kind of stuff.
Right?
Your basic needs.
That's what it controls.
I don't want to say controls but governs let's just say.
The basic things in your life.
Okay?
You kind of can tell when you're out of balance.
When your root chakra needs some balancing.
If you feel like maybe fearful of you know a certain life situation or if you feel if you feel some of those lower vibrational emotions like greed or jealousy.
Yeah.
So basically that's kind of that's kind of how you can tell about the root chakra if it feels out of balance.
Okay?
We can always use here's my thing too.
We can always use like a balance.
A balancing I guess I should say of the root chakra because grounding is so so important just to have a just to have the kind of life that is that feels good.
Where you feel good about your life.
Right?
So a couple little things and then we'll meditate.
First of all the the the gem that I love to use while I'm trying to balance my root chakra is a smokey quartz.
Okay?
Quartz is so powerful.
I there's nothing more for me anyway.
Right?
I can feel the energy from a quartz like long ways away.
Right?
I can feel it like there's this one store by me that has quartz there and I can feel it outside the store.
I can feel the energy.
So smokey quartz has like those those same type of properties.
Right?
So if you want to feel more grounded smokey quartz or it's just any quartz actually but you know okay then what you can do is you can sage.
Sometimes we forget that what how important sage can be and how useful it can be.
Right?
So you just light your sage and you just say your your prayer for balancing and that's like fantastic.
Right?
Another thing to do is to and I've said this like the last couple of days it's so funny.
Walk barefoot.
Walk barefoot on the earth.
In the grass or in the sand because you want to get when you want to feel more grounded you want to feel that connection with Mother Earth.
Okay?
So that is the quick version because you know on our daily things we have to be a little quick.
Right?
But so today we are going to meditate on our root chakra and this particular meditation I have used it was one of the I think one of the first meditations that I ever actually felt a difference in.
Do you know what I mean?
Like you can feel a difference when you do this particular meditation after you're finished.
So let's get ourselves comfy comfy and and yeah get yourself seated however it feels the most comfortable to you.
Okay?
And let's see.
Okay so let's get ourselves comfortable close your eyes when it feels right and let's take a nice long deep deep breath in and release.
There's nothing better than that.
It feels relaxed just in taking that deep breath.
Right?
So let's do that again.
Take a nice deep breath in and release all those anxieties,
Stresses.
So I would like for you to imagine that we are sitting on the beach cross-legged in the sand just listening to the ocean waves breathing in that amazing salt air just feeling that oneness with Mother Earth.
Now as we're sitting there I'd like for you to imagine that we are sitting on the beach cross-legged in the sand just feeling that oneness with Mother Earth.
Now as we're sitting there I'd like for you to imagine roots coming out of your root chakra or the soles of your feet and sort of burrowing as far into the earth.
And I want you to imagine those roots growing deep deep down into the earth.
Now as we feel those roots digging deep deep into the center of the earth let's start to feel the energy from the center of the earth and let's sort of suck up that energy into the roots and back up into our bodies.
Feel that Mother Earth energy coming in through your feet or your root chakra at the base of your spine and go all throughout your body.
The tips of your fingers,
The top of your head,
Down through your neck and all through your legs and your abdomen and torso.
Really feel that earth energy.
Mother Earth energy is so strong,
So strong that we can feel tingling all throughout our bodies.
That beautiful energy that helps us feel connected connected to the earth,
Connected to our family,
Connected to all the communities that we're part of.
Most of all connected to ourselves.
Now I want us to imagine the color red coming up through those roots and into our bodies.
Red is the grounding color that has healing qualities.
The sound associated with the root chakra is LAM.
So let's all begin to say over and over again LAM LAM LAM As we are still hearing the waves crashing at our feet as we sit on the beach,
We begin to feel free.
Free and liberated.
Yet still connected.
Connected to Mother Earth and our families and all the people of the earth.
LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM LAM Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies knowing that we can always come back to this place in our minds and always feel that connection.
Mother Earth is always just waiting for us.
Always willing to be there.
As we bring our awareness back whenever you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.
We could have gone longer couldn't we?
Well at least for me I could have kept going.
So if you want to feel grounded today,
A couple other little things you can do.
You can wear red.
You can wear red.
I love that.
And again sage.
Sage is beautiful.
I know this sounds silly but you know red is the color of the Muladhara which is the root chakra.
And eating red food,
Wearing red clothes,
Just considering the color red,
There's something that tends to be like connecting when we do that right?
So there we have it.
I hope you all feel a little bit more connected to the earth and grounded today.
