What Is Embodied Spirituality? (Talk & Q&A)
Embodied spirituality is fully trusting the Intelligence of Life and accepting all things exactly as they are, moment-by-moment. Everything is always unfolding perfectly, including the resistances to the Now that sometimes arise in the body and the mind. The talk is followed by a Q&A session and answers questions such as: what should I do when my mind takes me away from the now into the past and the future; how to be present when a family member has a chronic sickness; and more.

Hi everybody and welcome to this event on what is embodied spirituality presence really is Indescribable,
You know,
I've said in the past that awareness is Love because it accepts everything as it is or it is happiness because it is inherently peaceful but even these words to some extent Point to a positive image of awareness and What's important is to to let go of all labels embodied spirituality is Simply being here now with what is with whatever is without trying to Label it as bad or negative or to look for a more positive experience and it's tricky because the mind often tries to take us away from the now to rushes into the future But of course that's not possible because the future When experienced will be now will be this moment So the future never actually comes.
We are always Present we're always here by remembering that we can just Focus on what is here even if it's not pleasant,
Even if it's a tense feeling or Negative thoughts about something.
That's what is I've noticed in myself at times that I have this tendency of trying to To say that I'm feeling something negative because something positive will will come out of it But if I am really honest in the moment and to fully feel what I'm feeling It's important to not have any sort of Promises or beliefs about the future and just to be with with what is and this to me is full Embodied spirituality it is not seeking anything different moment by moment during the day and there is of course a seeming journey to reaching this point and That journey is a journey of keep coming back.
Keep coming back.
Keep Recognizing what your mind is trying to do Until you're able to to really be with with any experience and allow it To to be for as long as it as it is Not trying to shorten it not trying to to quicken the process not trying to get anywhere.
Just Just being present and this this presence this awareness Is so beyond labels.
It's so beyond good and bad right and wrong positive and negative that It's very hard to to talk about it with the right terms It is neutral.
It is simply here it is and At times it becomes,
You know,
Very beautiful peaceful feelings of Expansion love gratitude,
Etc and at times the experience is one that is more tense less pleasant to the body and the mind and Both of these are this awareness At one point there is no longer the differentiation between What is pleasant and what is unpleasant both are simply?
Experienced in the moment Whatever comes is what comes and there is no need or desire to to change anything and Then there is also this idea of not knowing which is very Very powerful because you know,
And for example as I said when I project Future happiness after current tense feeling or negative thought It's like I can't feel it fully because I'm not fully surrendering to this Feeling to what is I am trying to to make it what it isn't and then hoping for a better future reality but when you Let go of Concepts when you stay neutral Then there is no longer the need to escape what is to try and find something better and Not knowing in this case is is is more powerful because when you say I don't know Where this is leading me.
I Don't know what follows Then you are present.
It is a surrendering and not knowing and and allowing more and more deeply experienced to flow even flow kind of suggests that It will pass And full embodied understanding is allowing things as they are Being with things as they are Not needing them to flow not needing them to change It's amazing because spiritual embodiment a lot of the time seems like an idea,
You know,
It's like Finding our true self discovering what is real and constant And then more and more embodying that but really it's an experiential understanding it's a moment by moment Experience of Being with what is not trying to to change it not trying to to be anywhere else and then there's also Projection.
So first often we we project our feelings into the world onto others onto situations but also as I said,
We we project a A Desired outcome as a result of a tension of a negative feeling But when we are with what is what is is is all there is for us in this moment so There is no longer the projection because there is nothing to project it onto we know very deep down that No other moment no future moment or no past experience Is better or can bring us more than what we have now Because this is all there is our experience our current experience will always be all there is so then there is no longer the intention desire to look for a better past experience and try to find a more enlightened state of body-mind that we have experienced before or This desire for a better future getting somewhere Becoming a more enlightened version of ourself beyond labels beyond words What is is what is beyond the mind it's beyond beliefs beyond duality and this understanding Living in this way is the full embodied Spirituality it's the end of seeking.
It's simply being Not looking to understand anything better Not looking to be where we are not Not looking to change the state of the body in the mind Not looking to change what we see or hear or feel Alan you say it makes total sense,
But sometimes it's hard because during meditation we enter that state of being what is But most of the time the mind goes full seeker avoider Even with the very practice It's desperating yes,
And That is why Meditation is not something that begins or ends Sooner or later when we meditate for 10-15 minutes in the morning and then again in the evening We find a peace find a stillness that Is beyond our experiences during the day?
When we are not meditating and sooner or later this this seed becomes Planted in the in the mind and the body and There's an intuitive understanding that this Peace this stillness is what?
We are aiming for There also comes a natural tendency to make more and more space for being this stillness and The more we make space for this beingness the more life Opens to make more and more space to deepen our understanding to to fully Help us let go of all of our beliefs of All that we think can give us peace and happiness but actually doesn't and The practice in itself is is very simple You know,
It's so simple that it's even annoying to the mind it's Just be what with what is without trying to change it but that's the mind's job is to try and take us away from the now to find things that are seemingly better to Try and not make us feel what we're feeling and change our experience But ultimately it is by feeling these emotions by embodying stillness that They they dissolve and we become more and more open more and more free to just be The end of seeking really comes when we stop Believing the mind When we know that it comes up with thoughts Like a bird comes up with songs We're not trying to control the songs of the birds,
We're not trying to change the notes that they sing So why do we try to change the thoughts?
Why do we think they are important?
Messenger you say hard to do and family member having chronic health problem again here I would I would I would notice and and this is quite a It's the last stage of the path.
It's embodied Spirituality so when a family member has health problem Notice bring it back to yourself.
Notice what it triggers in you Notice what the mind says,
You know,
It might say I need to constantly be Engaged with this family member.
I need to to help to support think and This may well be the case but often the mind adds layers layers of Emotionality and preparation that are unnecessary So it's coming back to this trust that whatever motivation you need will be there whatever Actions you need to take you will take them whatever clarity of mind you need to have will be there and You can remain present and Actually,
The most help you can be to another is by being present by knowing that Everything is as it should be every moment and Conveying conveying that message through your own Presence your own knowing That Things are are simply unfolding and then there is a piece that you feel and it's also in in the way you you act the way you you move the way you talk and that piece is It's communicated and it's shared and it is also This piece that heals It heals you and it heals others So,
Yes,
I'm not saying that it's easy.
I know it's hard to do but I would I Would take it back to your own Feelings emotions and processing those focusing on being with what is for yourself and the more you can fully Accept all the thoughts all the emotions that come within you the more you will be able to also accept those kinds of thoughts and emotions in others I'm glad it's helpful and I Wish you all the best with your family member and a quick recovery for them If there are no more questions,
I think I will end this event here If what I've shared resonated with you,
I Also do one-to-one sessions and you can find out more about these on my website Which is on my insight timer profile So thank you all for being with me today,
And I hope to see you again soon Thank you everyone.
