
Follow Your Intuition About What Foods To Consume

We need to start following our intuition about what our bodies need to stay healthy, rather than relying entirely upon some dogma or expert's words. How does your body feel when you put something into it - that's the gauge you should use to figure out if that food is good for you or not.

In general,
I think if you've been watching me for a while you know that I'm kind of obsessed with nutrition and health in all the different ways.
Not that I'm saying I'm the healthiest person out there,
Not even close,
But I do love reading about it.
I love reading new research on what's out there about nutrition.
You know all the super foods and all the foods that are good for you and all the different ways to cook foods and generally anything related to food and nutrition I am I love health,
Nutrition,
Food and I think one of the major reasons I became a foodie is of course because food tastes great,
That is a given,
But more importantly I became a foodie because I realized how powerful food can be as a tool to enhance your life.
I'm sure all of you know this,
It's nothing new,
I'm not saying anything new here.
Food used as medicine is a big movement in the entire world right now I would say.
I didn't want to talk particularly about food as medicine but I wanted to talk to you about how I've been kind of noticing great correlations between how I've been using food as medicine and how I'll be suddenly intuitively I'll get this feeling,
Oh you know what I should do this.
For example,
Recently I was like you know what I'm going to start eating only when it is light outside.
I'm not gonna eat anything after it turns dark there were many reasons for it I didn't want to go up cook in the kitchen when there were bugs around and you know I didn't feel good because I would usually fall asleep around 839 and if I ate after sunset which is around 630 here then I wouldn't be able to fall asleep,
My belly would still be full,
There are lots of different reasons but then you know I started doing this just as an intuitive thing I was like all right I wake up in the morning around 536 I eat around 8 and my last meal is around 5,
530 max and lunch is usually in the middle somewhere and so I've been doing this for a few I would say a few months actually now of course there's moments here and there where you know I'll be out with friends and we end up eating at 7 p.

Or 8 usually that's the latest I've been eating but that happens maybe once a week barely once a week I would say and so as I started doing this and then I started reading this really good book actually I really like it really easy to digest with great tips and actually really practical and the book is called when you when you eat oh my god I can't actually remember the name of the book I'll put it in description below it's basically about when not how you eat or where you eat or what you eat which is usually what all the books focus on focus on is you know what do you eat what should you eat but particularly when should you eat and the timing of food and you know what to eat when how to eat when and depending on the cycles of your on your period cycles you should be eating different things of course and then depending on the season you should be eating differently so they cover a lot of different things also depending on the different diseases you have or hereditary issues you have what you should be eating a really good book I really liked it I listened to it on an audio on audio and interestingly enough one of the things that they one of the key things I started talking about was how you should only be eating during daytime and usually from 6 a.

Is typical so you should only be eating in a 12-hour window and it's it's as I said it's really fascinating to me because I started doing this automatically intuitively a few months ago a couple of months ago maybe and or maybe longer than that and you know I'm reading this book and I'm like whoa that's so interesting that they actually recommend and these are two doctors who are obviously I'm not saying that they are the epitome of knowledge but they obviously know more than me about nutrition and health and all that so I really do and this is just one example obviously there was a couple other examples from the book that I was like I started thinking about certain things that I wanted to include in my diet and I've been thinking about it thinking about it and then as I read in this book and it confirmed that it was a good idea to do that but intuitively you know my intuition is like hey you should do this and I'm like oh I don't know and the book confirms that I'm like alright fine and the intuition is like I told you so why won't you just listen to me and so I'm really kind of sitting here thinking of course everyone always says you know listen to your body listen to your intuition you know only eat what your intuition is telling you to eat don't eat what your intuition doesn't tell you to eat if your intuition is telling you to eat meat you know eat it not your body but your intuition and if your intuition is trying to tell you to go vegan or vegetarian you do it kind of thing your intuition knows better than you actually do because your body's intelligence you know it's not your your mind that is telling you all these things it's your body so normally what I do is I kind of follow in general I would say I follow my mind's guidance more than I follow my intuition I've been trying obviously more and more to follow my intuition and a little by little I think I'm getting better at it not perfectly there yet I'm sure there's a lot I can improve there I do tend to doubt my intuition a lot you know my intuition will tell me something very clearly and I'll have to check it you know go online but like is that actually true and then I'll check it and it turns out to be true and then you know I feel like I'm kind of disrespecting my intuition in that manner a bit because it's clearly telling me that this is how I should do things and it's almost never wrong actually it's never wrong and instead of actually trusting it and say okay if you're so adamant about this I should I'm just gonna do it but I'm thinking about it I go and you know kind of like fiddle with research and go on Google and do all these random little things I talk to people and as I said I really feel like I'm disrespecting my intuition here especially because it's really only speaking for my best and it really knows me best so if I spoke to someone else about you know should I do this they might know me a little bit but not perfectly as much as my intuition does and they might give me the wrong advice whereas my intuition is me it's you know my body my intelligence my really deep intelligence and so I feel like if I was gonna follow anyone's advice it shouldn't be you know some person out there whoever they might be but my intuition that's telling me hey this is the way to do it and this is the path you should take or this is the direction you should go in I think I've spoken about my intuition many times before as I said I'm getting much better at listening to it you know I would say a year ago I was even five years ago I was terrible at it but a few I would say a few maybe two years ago I really started paying attention to my intuition not perfectly there yet but I'm getting better at it and I know that the more my intuition pipes up about these things and the more it's proven right the more I'm realizing that no good comes out of me not following my intuition absolutely no good for example recently my my intuition has been really strongly telling me that I need to eat more fish and I haven't been of course because I'm I'm vegan right now and you know I'm trying really hard not to be not to break that and I think it's kind of more of like an ego thing for me that oh I'm a vegan you know how cool am I kind of thing not necessarily related to anything perfect or anything divine it's not related to anything that God's telling me to do of course there's lots of good things about being vegan of course you know like protecting the animals the environment lots of amazing things about it but recently my intuition has really been like hey you need to eat fish you're missing something here you need to start eating fish again and I've been kind of not ignoring it necessarily I do eat fish once a week but my intuition is like hey you need to eat more fish it really literally eat more fish and I know it's not good for the oceans I understand all of that stuff by my body is literally telling me hey eat more fish eat more fish and so you know I'm and of course the book as well was adamant about the fact that you should eat more salmon in fact they said eat salmon every day it's a it's the perfect food out there it's more most healthy food out there everyone should be eating more salmon I don't think there's enough salmon in the world for that but anyways they're saying that you know they were pontificating over and over again about the fact that salmon is really good for you so eat more of it and so again you know my intuition is like hey eat more fish and this book just confirmed it again so in the future I'm really I say this I'm really gonna try and say whenever my body's like hey do this I'm like okay I want to follow it even though there might be a lot of different tenants out there or theories out there or whatever out there saying no do the opposite even though that happens a lot I'm really gonna really really gonna try and say if my intuition is telling me do this or eat this or go there I'm gonna say okay cool I believe you I trust you obviously here for my good so I'm gonna do it so maybe you can hold me to this promise that I'm making to myself and if I stop doing that or if I don't listen to my own promise then you can warn me or you can message me saying hey boom you're not actually doing what you say you're gonna do and I'd love to hear from you of course obviously about your intuition particularly regarding food does your intuition pipe up and say hey you should eat this today or hey you should eat this in general and if it does I'd love to hear from you again thank you so much for
