Hello and welcome to this rainy day meditation.
I'm Nola Bloom and I'm recording this on a very monsoony day here on Koh Phangan Thailand where the rains have been coming down in steady rhythms and blanketing the island.
Living here year-round,
I've come to love the monsoon season.
It carries a quiet,
Introspective energy that invites us to slow down and often inspires me to create.
Like scripting and recording this meditation for all of you radiant souls out there who are tuning in today.
And since you've been called to listen to this meditation,
I'm going to assume it's raining wherever you are too.
Rainy days often encourage us to turn inward.
And there are so many beautiful ways to spend this time.
It's a great time for anything self-care like getting a massage,
Drawing yourself a warm bubble bath,
Pulling out your tarot cards for introspection,
Unrolling your yoga mat for a gentle yummy practice,
Or tidying up a cozy corner of your space.
Journaling is a wonderful practice for days like this.
So I want to know,
How are you feeling today?
Are you finding comfort in the rain?
Or is it stirring heavier emotions?
For many of us,
The steady rains can bring a sense of melancholy or even seasonal depression.
And I admit there are days when I feel this too.
Days when the grey skies weigh heavy on my spirit.
And that's why I wanted to create this meditation today.
To help us find balance,
Turn inward,
And to rediscover the beauty in these moments.
It's an opportunity to pause and feel gratitude for the cycles of nature that nourish and renew us.
So allow the heavy rain to remind us of life's rhythms and our deep connection to the earth.
If you can hear the rain wherever you are,
Allow it to become part of this meditation and your gentle guide towards inner peace and stillness.
Now let's find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
Whatever feels good for you in this moment.
If you choose to lie down,
Perhaps place a pillow under your knees and wrap yourself up in a warm blanket.
Take a moment to arrive here,
To settle into the space and allow yourself this time to simply be.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling the cool,
Fresh energy of the rain filling your lungs,
And just hold it in for a moment and allow it to nourish you.
Then slowly exhale through your mouth with a soft sigh,
Allowing the tension to slide away like raindrops running down a leaf.
Let's do this two more times.
Inhale deeply,
Feel the rain's energy as it refreshes your spirit,
Hold the breath,
And exhale,
Softening completely,
Like the ground softens under the gentle touch of the rain.
One more time,
Inhale deeply,
Hold the breath,
And exhale completely,
Settling into the rhythm of your breath and the rain that's falling around you.
Now,
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a lush,
Tropical rainforest.
The rain is falling gently,
Its steady drops creating ripples in small ponds and streams.
A fine mist rises from the ground,
Surrounding you in a cool,
Magical embrace.
You step onto the soft,
Mossy path ahead,
Feeling the earth cool and damp beneath your feet.
The canopy above glistens with raindrops,
And every now and then,
One slips through,
Landing on your soft skin,
A tiny kiss from nature.
As you walk through the rainforest,
The sound of rain deepens.
It blends with the rustle of leaves and the distant call of birds.
Each raindrop feels purposeful,
Part of the great rhythm of life.
You watch as raindrops fall onto the large,
Emerald green leaves,
Creating a soothing symphony of nature.
The rain trickles down the bark of the ancient trees,
Gliding into the rich earth below.
You come across a stream that winds gently into the forest.
Raindrops meet the stream,
Their ripples mingling and flowing with the current.
Kneeling beside it,
You place your hand on the cool,
Clear water.
Imagine the rain's energy flowing into you,
Washing away any heaviness,
Leaving only clarity and renewal.
Rising again as you continue to walk along the path,
And before you stands a grand,
Ancient tree.
Its roots are deep and strong.
Its bark glistening with tiny rivulets of rain.
You place your hands against the tree and feel its grounding energy steadying you.
As you hold your hands here,
You close your eyes and tune into the sound of the rain.
Each drop reminds you of life cycles,
Of nourishment,
Of cleansing,
And of renewal.
Take a moment here to reflect on gratitude.
What in your life do you feel most grateful for?
Perhaps it's the rain cleansing the earth.
Perhaps it's friends,
Family,
Or a beloved pet.
Or perhaps it's simply this time to connect with yourself.
Let the gratitude flow through you,
As steady and constant as the rain.
Take a big breath in,
And allow the peaceful energy of the rainforest to settle in your heart.
Exhale deeply,
Releasing any remaining tension,
As if the last raindrops are gently falling to the earth.
When you're ready,
Gently bring awareness back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And notice the surface beneath you.
Open your eyes softly,
Carrying with you the grounding energy of the rainforest,
And the rhythmic comfort of the rain.
Allow this connection to stay with you as you move throughout your day.
A gentle reminder of life cycles,
And its moments of rest,
Renewal,
And beauty.
And remember that just like the rain,
You are part of something vast,
Beautiful,
And ever-changing.
Namaste.
