My name is Nola Bloom,
And today I am sharing a meditation on gratitude.
Taking time each day to consciously focus on gratitude can truly transform your life into something beautiful.
So go ahead and get yourself comfortable.
Close down your eyes and settle the breath.
Inhale deeply,
And exhale completely.
Let's begin by feeling gratitude for the air you are breathing,
And for the ability to expand and soften with each breath.
Allow the inhale to become a little fuller,
And the exhale to become a little more complete.
Really invoking this feeling of gratitude.
Allowing yourself to be gently bathed in this sensation.
Now take a moment to offer gratitude for your body,
How it functions,
How it supports you.
Offer gratitude to your eyes,
For allowing you to witness beauty,
A sunset,
Or even a genuine smile.
Offer gratitude for your ears,
For hearing the birds sing.
Offer gratitude to your throat,
For giving you the ability to express yourself.
Give thanks to your feet,
For giving you the power to stand present in this moment.
Offer gratitude to your arms that will pick you up when you fall,
And to your healing hands that create and offer comfort.
Bring awareness now to your heart centre,
The centre of love,
Devotion and compassion.
With every inhale,
Allow gratitude to gently build,
And with every exhale,
Soften and relax more deeply.
The more you appreciate the simple and often unnoticed aspects of your body,
The easier it becomes to feel gratitude for no reason at all.
Gratitude for the sake of gratitude.
Now whisper these words inwardly.
Thank you.
Just gratitude for no reason at all.
There is so much that is worthy of our appreciation.
The very fact that we live on such a beautiful planet,
Surrounded by fresh air and breathtaking nature,
The trees,
The animals,
The oceans,
The mountains.
Tune in to how grateful you are to be living in this body,
On this earth,
In this moment.
Isn't it amazing?
How special it is simply to exist.
Sense gratitude surrounding you,
And living within you.
Allow yourself to relax into gratitude.
There are so many tiny miracles happening all the time.
So much to appreciate.
Appreciate the world for what it is.
Appreciate yourself for who you are.
Allow this feeling of gratitude to radiate through your entire being.
Now gently drop your awareness into your body,
And notice what gratitude feels like inside of you.
Notice any sensations that are present.
With each inhale,
Allow gratitude to expand.
With each exhale,
Soften more deeply into it.
Resting into gratitude for a few more moments.
Now bring your hands to your heart center,
And reflect on someone or something in your life that you are truly grateful for.
When you're ready,
Take a gentle bow towards the earth in gratitude for all that exists.
