Coffee,
Tea,
Or whatever is warming your belly this morning,
And let your palms wrap around the cup.
Feel the warmth meeting your skin.
Let your shoulders soften.
Take a slow breath in,
And a long,
Easy breath out.
Let your breath find its natural rhythm.
Bring your attention to your cup.
Notice the surface,
The steam rising softly.
Lift it a little closer,
And notice the aroma as it meets you.
When you're ready,
Take your first sip.
Feel the warmth,
The taste,
The simple comfort of this moment.
Pause.
Take another sip,
Slower this time.
Let it linger.
Let this become a gentle rhythm.
Sip,
Pause,
Breathe.
Noticing the gentle rise and fall of the chest and belly.
The warmth from your cup in your hands.
Take another sip.
Notice how you feel.

More settled,
More connected.
Take another slow sip.
Receive it fully.
The warmth,
The grounding,
The gentle beginning of your day.
Let this presence stay with you as you lower your cup back down.
