This meditation offers you the opportunity to start your day with a few minutes of mindfulness,

Taking the time to do this can go a long way towards creating some positive momentum in your day ahead.
Begin by finding a comfortable position and notice your breath as it comes in and out,
Greeting each breath with your welcoming presence.
As you do this,
Acknowledge the amazing life force within each breath that allows you to be here,
Right now,
Alive,
Living your life.
As you follow your breath in and out,
Envision your breath carrying oxygen to all parts of your body,
To all of your cells,
Nourishing you.
Follow your breath as it spreads throughout your body,
Connecting all parts of you,
Making up the wholeness of who you are.
See each breath as an invitation to find that place of calmness and stillness within,
Where you can pause and drop your anchor before you start your day.
From this inner stillness,
Make some space to notice whatever is present within you,
Taking inventory,
Accepting wherever you are right now.
Believe in this new day.
It is yours to make of it what you want.
Each moment today offers you a chance for your best self to show up.
Each moment offers you a chance to awaken to the here and now.

Now think about something that you are grateful for,
Large or small.
It could be as small as having these few minutes to nurture yourself.
Whatever it is,
Let that feeling of gratitude fill you up.
Feel it flowing through you from head to toe,
Washing over your entire body.
Notice how gratitude shows up in your body.
And you feel it most strongly.
Now think about someone you care about deeply.
It could be a family member,
Friend,
Co-worker,
Or even a beloved pet.
Imagine sending them warmth,
Well wishes,
Love,
Or compassion.
Send those feelings out from your heart to theirs.
Imagine surrounding them with your caring wishes.
If you'd like,
You can extend these feelings to include a wider circle around you of people you know or even those you don't know.
Let this care and loving kindness spread out into the wider world.
Now extend these feelings of care and compassion to yourself.
Appreciate and acknowledge that you took this time for you.
When you take time for yourself to connect inward and to call out positive feelings within,
This has a ripple effect that can spread positivity into your day and the lives of those around you.
