Welcome to this Men on the Path to Love meditation.
When the breakup hits you,
Sitting with the loss.
I invite you to take a moment and find a comfortable position.
You can sit,
Lie down,
Whatever feels right for you.
If it feels okay,
Then gently close your eyes.
And if not,
Simply soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and exhale.
Again,
Slow breath in.
There's no need to force anything right now.
No need to feel a certain way.
Just let yourself arrive here in this moment.
Notice your body.
Notice where you're holding tension.
Could be in your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your jaw,
Maybe in your arms and hands,
Your legs.
Without trying to change it or judge it,
Just notice.
Notice the tension in your body.
And take a slow,
Deep breath in again.
And as you exhale,
See if you can soften just a little.
Not all the way,
Just a little.
That's enough.
Now bring your awareness to your chest,
To your heart space.
Just notice what's happening there.
The fact that you're listening to this meditation,
There's a good chance that something has ended.
A relationship,
A chapter,
A version of your life.
When a breakup or divorce first hits,
It can feel like the rug has been pulled out from under you.
There can be confusion.
Emptiness,
A void.
And maybe even a sense of the loss of your identity.
Asking,
Who am I now?
And if that's what you're feeling,
Just know that you don't have to fix that right now.
You don't have to figure everything out.
You don't even have to feel better.
Right now,
Your only job is to be here.
Right now,
In this moment.
And whatever is present,
Whatever is showing up in your body,
In your heart,
Any feelings that are coming up,
See if you can simply allow it all to be here,
Right now.
There could be sadness,
Anger,
Regret,
Resentment,
Relief,
Numbness.
Whatever it is,
Understand that there is no wrong feeling here.
It's all valid.
And if your instinct is to push it away or distract yourself,
That makes sense.
Most men were never taught how to sit with this.
And right now,
You're doing something different.
You're staying.
You're allowing.
And you're breathing.
So,
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Just say quietly to yourself,
It's okay to feel what I'm feeling.
Again,
Take a slow breath in.
It's okay to feel this.
It's okay to feel this.
To feel what I'm feeling.
It's important to know that what you're feeling right now,
It's not weakness.
It's not failure.
It's what happens when something meaningful ends.
It means you cared.
It means you invested in something.
It means this mattered.
And while it might not feel like it yet,
Understand that this moment can be a turning point for you.
Not because you rush past it,
But because you allow yourself to fully experience it.
And that's where the healing and the healing comes.
And the rebuilding begins.
You're not broken.
You're rebuilding.
Now,
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Breathing in slowly.
And exhale slowly.
And as you bring awareness to your breath,
Your natural breath,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Noticing where your breath shows up in your body.
Feeling the weight of your body.
Feeling your body supported.
Grounded.
And realize you're still here.
Even in the midst of this,
You are still here.
And that matters more than you think.
So once again,
Take one more slow,
Deep breath in.
And let it go.
And when you feel like the time is right,
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
If this resonated with you,
This is just the beginning.
There is a path forward from here,
And you don't have to walk it alone.
Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
