Hey there.
So for those of you who've listened to me before,
You know that I spent four months in Japan.
I am back in Minnesota where it is cold and windy and rainy and a completely different world than where I was living in Tokyo.
And that change has had me thinking about change and how things grow best along the disturbed edges.
So you have to break open a field in order for the seeds to grow.
And that can suck because who wants to be broken open like that?
Who wants to feel exposed?
And yet when we can trust the process of our own life,
When we can trust the extraordinary or the ordinary,
The overwhelming or even the boring,
When we can trust those to be the experiences we need right here,
Right now,
It doesn't mean that those experiences are gonna be easy.
But it does mean that we meet them.
With this sense of presence,
This sense of purpose.
Ever since I've gotten back,
The word I keep seeing everywhere is hope.
And if you've been following me for a while,
You know that I began here on Insight Timer with meditations called A Hit of Hope.
Because my life was absolutely overwhelming.
There were so many things I was trying to navigate.
So much pain I had to bear.
I needed something to hold on to.
And for me,
At that time,
It was hope.
And for whatever reason,
I kind of began to move away from that.
But now,
The world keeps telling me,
We need hope.
I need it.
You need it.
And it's not that we have to have this desired outcome,
That my book will be published,
Or the new job will happen,
Or I'll fall in love with the perfect person.
That's not the kind of hope.
But the hope that we are here together for a reason.
I have a purpose.
You have a purpose.
And how much more incredible life is when we trust that,
When we believe that,
When we hope that there are so many good things ahead.
We can't even imagine what they might be.
And we have to remember that all of life cannot be extraordinary.
But sometimes life is ordinary.
And that there's magic there.
There's hope there.
There are these ways we can look at our everyday lives,
Whatever they may be,
And look at them with this beautiful sense of love,
And gratitude,
Curiosity,
And kindness.
This sense of yes,
This,
And then this.
So we can fully inhabit our here's,
Wherever they are,
Whatever they may be.
And they may suck.
But what beautiful thing can you hold on to?
What beautiful thing can I hold on to?
And how can we do it together?
So as you live,
Find your hope,
Your purpose,
Trust,
Your center,
Your radiance.
And let's do this.
Let's live so we can live light and shine.
