Is your inner life working for you or against you? Will you dare share your inner life? We spend so much time and effort on our outer shell. The inner life might be the last thing you have the courage to face. The inner life will not grow quiet and heal on its own. You have to sit and stay. You have to face what's there.

Settle yourself.

Let your shoulders relax away from your ears.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Welcome to a hit of hope.

Is your inner life working for you or against you?

Do you hide what is going on inside?

Or do you dare to share your inner life,

Your real,

Authentic,

Messy,

And maybe terrified inner self,

The self that is longing to be seen and heard?

Or do you take so much time and spend so much effort on your outer shell,

The outer shell that has to be perfect,

The outer shell that has to look and smell perfect,

And most of all,

The outer shell that has to act perfect,

Or at least act as if everything is perfect,

When in reality,

The inner life might be howling or crumbling,

When the inner life might be the last thing in the world you have the courage to face.

But the inner life,

The inner life working against you will not go away on its own.

The inner life working against you will not grow quiet on its own.

So much of our inner life will not heal on its own.

That means you.

You have to sit.

You have to stay.

You have to breathe.

You have to face what's there.

That is scary as hell,

Isn't it?

Most of us would rather have a root canal or do whatever we can think of to numb the pain.

But the thing is,

Even when you are wounded,

You can also be healing.

So do some inner work and then have faith in the inner work you are doing.

Do what you can to plant any positive seeds along your rocky path.

And then sit.

Breathe.

Face.

Storm.

Watch.

Stay.

Breathe.

You do not have to stay dark inside.

You do not have to stay broken inside.

You are good.

You are worthy.

Sit.

Do the inner work.

You will.

Namaste.

I've worked my way though almost all of your meditations, but every now and then, when I'm scrolling through, one jumps out at me that I've somehow missed. It's almost always the exact thing I need to hear at the exact right time. Namaste.

My body is a temple. Ancient and crumbling, probably cursed and haunted... I've never been able to hide what I am and what's going on inside me (I've cried and howled in a few public places) It's scary for others though because they just don't know what to say or do in the face of your reality. We walk a lonely path. There's so much utter BS on here from some people who clearly have never had to deal with descending into hell (yet) So thank you, thank you, thank you for always keeping it REAL 🙏💫💐

"Howling" and "crumbling" both grabbed my heart -- and they also grabbed my attention to see why this is all so important for me. Betsy, I hate that you've had to go thru so much hell, but I am so grateful to you for creating these meditations and sharing them with us. Please know that you are making a positive difference in many lives.

Thank you for the gentle encouragement to face the difficult truth that we have to do the work if we want to see the change. Change may or may not happen otherwise, and if it does, it might not be the type of change we hope for or is best for us if we are not active participants in the change. It's good to hear that reminder. Thank you. 💐 I see the light in you. 🤲🏻❤️🤲🏻
