Welcome to this quick Christian anxiety meditation.

Wherever you are,

And whatever you're doing,

Stop and take a deep breath.

Hold it for five seconds.

As you exhale,

Feel the points of contact you have to the ground,

Or the surface you're on.

Feel yourself slowly sink into your chair,

Your bed,

Or however else you may be listening to this.

If you can close your eyes,

Do so now.

But if not,

That's totally fine.

Take a big,

Deep breath in,

And breathe out.

Take any anxious feelings you have in your legs,

Your chest,

Or wherever else,

And visualize them as little beads of anxiety floating around in your body.

As you inhale slowly,

Imagine these beads of anxiety floating up from those points of anxiety towards your mouth.

And as you exhale,

Release those beads of anxiety out of your mouth,

Away from the body,

Never to be seen again.

We feel anxiety because we're allowing our mind to go somewhere besides the present moment.

We often want to change something that happened in the past,

Or we want to control what will happen.

And both of these things will cause anxiety.

Oftentimes,

We allow these thoughts to come into our mind and take root without us even realizing it,

Until our body reacts to this added perceived pressure.

Ultimately,

We're trying to take what God has power over,

And we're trying to grab the steering wheel of life ourselves.

God tells us that this will never bring peace.

David outlines exactly what helped him to combat anxiety,

Fear,

And negative thinking.

Psalm 56.

3 says,

When I'm afraid,

I put my trust in you.

Take another deep breath in,

And exhale slowly.

We were never meant to grab the steering wheel and take control.

God doesn't want you to take the pressure and anxiety that comes with controlling everything yourself.

Trust in him.

Listen to what the Bible says about how God wants us to view our lives.

Romans 8.

28 says,

And we know that for those who love God,

All things work together for good,

For those who are called according to his purpose.

Whatever you're feeling anxious about,

Know that God is going to use that situation and work it out for good.

Take a big,

Deep breath into this truth.

God loves you,

And he wants you to give him the control.

He has a glorious plan that will take every negative and make it glorifying of him.

Cast all of your anxieties on him.

Take another deep breath,

A slow inhale,

And exhale slowly.

We can find incredible peace and understand that the pressure is not on us to control our future or change our past.

God is in complete control of both of these things.

All that God asks of us is to be in the present moment,

Trusting and glorifying him in what we are doing right now.

Proverbs 16.

3 says,

Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.

Let God take your past and your future.

Your plans are established through him.

Shift into the present moment now.

Feel the points of contact you have to where you are sitting.

Start to visualize the room you're in.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Slowly open your eyes.

You are going to be okay.

Give it to God.

Rest in the present moment and know that his plan will always work this out for good.

God has given you unique and amazing gifts and talents.

Steward these well by trusting him with them.

Have confidence knowing that you have them and any anxiety does not change this fact.

Go now with this truth.

God bless you.
