Hello,
Welcome to this visualization meditation.
Do this daily in order to develop confidence and self-fulfillment.
First let's start by taking a deep breath in and holding for six seconds.
Slowly exhale,
Easing into your surroundings.
When you take your next breath,
Imagine all of the tension in your legs,
Shoulders,
And chest being brought up together through your windpipes.
Breathe in now,
Then hold for six seconds.
Exhale now,
Letting all that tension and negative energy out into the air far away from you.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Hold for six seconds.
As you exhale,
Slowly close your eyes.
Staying fully present,
Feel your feet resting against the floor.
Turn your attention to your legs,
Feel yourself sink into your chair as it fully supports you.
Take one more big deep breath in,
Holding for six seconds,
Accumulating any leftover negative energy.
Breathe out,
Letting the stress melt away.
Now lift your shoulders high so they're touching your ears.
Hold this position for five seconds and let them drop,
Completely relaxing them.
Soak in this moment,
A moment when you were completely at peace.
Anytime you feel yourself distracted,
Return to the present by feeling your feet rest against the floor and your body pressed up sitting into the chair.
The following visualization may initially feel uncomfortable,
And that is completely normal.
The best way to move past a negative experience is to face it head on.
Imagine in your head a time where you felt uncomfortable or insecure.
Put yourself right into that moment.
How are you feeling?
How do your legs feel?
How about your upper body?
What are your breaths like?
How are you breathing?
What are you thinking about?
Give this feeling a color.
What color is it?
What else do you see at this time?
Take a moment to look around yourself.
Now take a big deep breath in.
Take all the negative energy you're feeling and inhale it.
Hold for six seconds,
And as you exhale,
Imagine yourself taking a mental step back from this experience.
Now you're not the one who is uncomfortable,
But you're now around 10 feet away from the situation.
Are your thoughts a bit more kind?
Are they maybe less harsh?
Has the color changed?
Now inhale and hold for six more seconds.
As you exhale,
Take another big mental step back.
You're now looking at the entire five weeks of practice and preparation for the spring season.
You can see the uncomfortable situation,
But it's a lot more difficult to do so as it's much smaller.
What is the color now?
Is it any different?
Does the negative experience seem a bit less hostile in the big scheme of things?
Now take one more big deep breath in.
Hold for six seconds.
Now as you exhale,
Take one last big mental step back.
What initially felt scary is now just a tiny blip that can barely be seen by the human eye.
It becomes difficult to see the scenario with the same pain,
And it becomes so small in the grand scheme of things.
Now bring yourself back to the present.
Feel your body sinking into the chair,
And take one big deep breath in,
And then one out without holding.
Now think of a time when you felt really good,
Felt like almost every throw was perfect.
You felt like you were throwing hard.
You weren't worried about where the ball was going or who was watching.
The ball just seemed to explode out of your hand.
You felt athletic,
And you felt at peace.
Take a big deep breath.
Hold for three seconds,
And then as you exhale,
Drop fully into this memory.
What are some colors you see?
Take a look around.
Is there a smell?
What do you hear?
What are you thinking about?
Do you feel present,
Or is your brain scattered?
Do you feel energized and excited,
Or relaxed in that peace?
Do you feel like there is a mental distance from yourself and the outcome of each throw?
Sometimes when we have a fresh negative experience,
We forget about the times in which we were confident and successful.
In reality,
This success is not only possible,
But absolutely will happen again.
Just like how we keep mental distance from our mistakes,
We do the same thing when we feel in the zone.
This puts our brain and body at ease,
And allows both to function smoothly without them trying to override each other.
Now imagine a bright golden glow of confidence fill within you.
Your whole body feels confident,
Smooth,
Athletic.
You're throwing hard without any worries.
The golden glow grows and extends to the whole room.
It continues to grow and extends to the whole campus.
Soon enough,
The whole area is filled with smiling faces and people confident in themselves and who God made them to be.
The glow shrinks back into the room.
Everybody in the gym is confident,
Throwing and hitting without any thoughts.
Everyone is encouraging each other,
Not worrying about their own insecurities.
The glow shrinks only to your body.
Feel this glow.
Feel the confidence,
The freedom to throw without worrying what anybody thinks.
The knowledge that God has put you on this team and has given you the talents that you have for a reason.
In a period of failure could never take him by surprise.
Imagine yourself freely throwing the ball hard and then going right where you want it to.
The glow that you're feeling in your whole body now becomes a ball that stays in your heart.
Nothing takes this ball away.
Clabs can sometimes conceal it for a very short while,
But they always clear and the ball stays.
Bring yourself back into the present now.
Feel yourself sitting in your chair.
Focus on this final verse from Hebrews 13 six,
Which says,
So we say with confidence,
The Lord is my helper.
I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
Gently start to wiggle your toes and your fingers.
Take a big deep breath in.
Hold for six seconds.
Now as you exhale,
You can slowly open your eyes.
Same confidence is in you.
Don't let a few clouds take away the mental distance that you have from the situation.
Ultimately it will all be a very distant memory sooner than expected.
Enjoy the successes and the struggles.
You'll miss them both.
Now go about with freedom knowing that whatever happens in the near future is part of God's glorious plan.
He is going to be glorified by what happens.
Go in peace.
God loves you.
