Wherever you are,
And whatever you're doing,
Stop and take a deep breath and hold it for three seconds.
As you exhale,
Feel the points of contact you have to the ground or the surface you're on.
If you can close your eyes,
Do so now,
But if not,
That's totally fine.
When we feel anxiety,
It's because we're allowing our mind to go somewhere besides the present moment.
We often want to change something to happen in the past,
Or want to control what will happen in the future.
Both of these will cause anxiety because they're out of our control.
When we do this,
We're trying to take what God has power over,
And we're trying to grab the steering wheel ourselves.
In reality,
God tells us that this will never bring peace.
David outlines exactly what helped him to combat anxiety,
Fear,
And negative thinking.
Psalm 56 3 says,
When I'm afraid,
I put my trust in you.
Take another deep breath and exhale slowly.
We were never meant to grab the steering wheel and take control.
God doesn't want you to take the pressure and anxiety that comes with controlling everything yourself.
Trust and lean on Him.
Listen to what the Bible says about how God wants us to view our lives.
Romans 8 28 says,
And we know that for those who love God,
All things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.
Whatever you're feeling anxious about,
Know that God is going to use that situation and work it out for good.
Take a deep breath into this truth.
God loves you,
And He wants you to give Him the control.
He has a glorious plan that will take every negative and make it glorifying of Him.
Cast all of your anxieties on Him.
Take a deep breath.
Hold it for four seconds.
Exhale and slowly open your eyes.
You are going to be okay.
Give it to God.
Focus on the present.
Know that His plan will always work out for good.
God has given you unique and amazing gifts and talents.
Steward these well by trusting Him with them,
And have confidence knowing that you have them,
And any anxiety you have does not change this fact.
Go now with this truth.
God bless you.
