Welcome to this yoga nidra practice.

This session will guide you into a deep state of relaxation and help you connect with your sacral chakra or swadhisthana.

Swadhisthana in Sanskrit is loosely translated as where your being is established.

Swa means self and adhisthana means established.

It's the second primary chakra according to Hindu tantrism.

Opening or balancing this chakra can boost creativity,

Manifest desire and confidence.

In my interpretation the sacral chakra is deeply connected to our generative energy,

Our capacity to create and bring to life ideas,

Relationships and experiences.

This creative energy is not limited to painting or writing a poem.

It's the primal libidinal creative force that infuses everything from nurturing a cooking,

Gardening,

Dancing or expressing your desires in a healthy way.

Swadhisthana is said to be blocked by fear,

Especially the fear of death,

The ultimate threat to your creation.

By awakening this vibrant orange light which is associated with this chakra,

We set an intention to dissolve those fears unlocking the powerful flow of desire,

Creativity and confidence that fuels all acts of creation big or small.

Allow this energy to rise within you,

Feeling your ability to shape and enrich your world.

So I invite you now to find a comfortable position,

Ideally lying on your back in Shavasana with your arms slightly away from your body and your palms facing up to release tension in the shoulders.

You can allow your fingers to just naturally curl in towards the palm.

Allow your legs to fall naturally apart,

Toes are pointing outwards if they want to.

If you prefer you can also sit or take another posture such as child's pose,

A fetal position or lying on your tummy,

As long as you know that it's going to allow you to relax fully.

Ensure that you're warm and that you're going to be undisturbed for the next 20 or 30 minutes.

So let's take in a few deep breaths together,

Breathing in and then exhale just releasing any tension that you're able to let go of in this moment.

One more time breathing in,

Exhale more tension,

Only what you're able to let go of.

And if your eyes are not already closed,

Gently closing the eyes taking that third deep breath in and then exhale letting go of what residual tension you're able to let go of.

This is your time now for rest and rejuvenation.

Bring your attention to your breath and feel the natural flow of air in and out of your nostrils.

There's no need to change your breath,

Simply notice its rhythm.

Allow it to guide you with each cycle of inhale and exhale into a state of calm.

Feel your nervous system beginning to slowly settle or regulate.

Feel the support of the ground beneath you.

Sense the earth rising to hold you.

It provides stability and safety.

With each exhale let your body grow heavier releasing tension into the earth.

Now we will begin a journey of awareness throughout your body.

Move your attention systematically from one part of the body to the next.

As I name each part simply bring your awareness there noticing sensations without judgment.

We'll begin on the right side.

Bring your attention to the right hand,

The thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger.

Feel the palm of the hand,

The back of the hand,

The wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Armpit,

Right side of the chest,

Waist,

Hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Shin,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot,

The right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Feel the whole right side of the body,

The whole right side.

Moving to the left side move your awareness to the left hand,

The thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger.

Feel the palm of the hand,

Back of the hand,

The wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Armpit,

Left side of the chest,

Waist,

Hip,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Feeling the whole left side of the body together,

Feeling the whole left side.

Bringing your awareness to the back of the body,

Bring awareness to the back of the head,

Neck,

Right shoulder blade,

Left shoulder blade,

Upper back,

Middle of back,

Lower back,

The length of the spine,

Right buttock,

Left buttock.

Feel the whole back of the body,

Feeling the whole back of the body.

Moving to the front of the body bring awareness to the top of the head,

Forehead,

Right temple,

Left temple,

Right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

Space between the eyebrows,

Right eye,

Left eye,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Nose,

Tip of nose,

Upper lip,

Lower lip,

Both lips together,

Chin,

Jaw,

Throat,

Right collar bone,

Left collar bone,

Chest,

Abdomen,

Pelvis,

Feeling the whole front of the body together,

The whole front of the body together.

Bringing your awareness to the whole right arm,

Feeling the whole right arm together,

Feeling the whole left arm,

Feeling the whole left arm together,

Feel the whole right leg,

Feeling the whole right leg together,

Feeling the whole left leg,

Feeling the whole left leg together,

Feeling the whole lower half of the body,

Feel the whole lower half of the body together,

Feel the whole upper half of the body,

The whole upper half of the body together.

Feeling the whole body now,

Sense your whole body as one unified field of awareness,

The whole body together relaxed,

Free from tension,

The whole body together.

Bring your attention now to the area just below your navel,

Visualize a glowing sphere of orange light in this space,

Spinning gently.

This is the center of your emotions,

Creativity and connection to the flow of life.

As you inhale,

Imagine drawing in warm radiant orange light,

See it grow brighter with each breath,

Expanding it outwards to fill your lower abdomen,

Pelvis and lower back.

Feel its warmth,

Soothing and energizing like a gentle,

Nurturing flame,

Visualize this energy as deeply connected to your ability to create and nurture life.

Whether through artistic expression,

Emotional connection or physical creation,

It is the essence of your sexual energy,

Not just as physical drive but as a profound generative force that supports all aspects of your being.

Feel this orange light as it glows warmly,

Flowing outwards to fill your pelvis,

Lower abdomen,

Lower back,

It's fluid and nurturing,

Supporting your emotions and allowing you to connect deeply with yourself and others.

As this energy expands,

Feel it rise like a gentle wave,

Elevating your spirit and energizing your creativity.

Imagine it spreading throughout your entire body,

Flowing freely and unblocked and allowing you to express yourself fully and authentically.

With every inhale,

Feel this light becoming more vibrant.

With every exhale,

Let go of any blockages,

Fears or tensions that may be stored in this area,

Allow the orange light to cleanse and renew you.

Now visualize this light spreading further,

Flowing up your spine,

Through your torso and into your heart.

See it moving outwards into your energy field,

A radiant orange glow that surrounds and protects you.

Know that this energy is deeply,

Deeply connected to your power to create and transform,

Whether it's building relationships,

Expressing emotions or manifesting your dreams and ambitions.

It's the force that fuels creation in all its forms,

Empowering you to live fully and with purpose.

Take a moment to rest in this orange energy,

This glowing orange energy and as you rest,

Repeat silently or out loud.

I am creative.

I am connected to the flow of life.

I embrace my emotions and express myself freely.

Feel this energy as the primal,

Libidinal and generative force of life.

It's that power that supports your passions,

Dreams and the art of living fully.

Now imagine this orange light extending down,

Through your legs and into the earth,

Anchoring you to the ground.

Feel the energy of the earth rising to meet it,

Supporting and nourishing you.

Take a moment to enjoy that connection,

Still,

Bathed and supported,

Surrounded by this warm,

Glowing orange light that radiates from your sacral centre,

Filling you with power and intention and creativity.

But slowly,

The visualisation begins to fade and as it does fade,

Imagine the orange light gently returning to the space below your navel.

See it shrinking to the size of a small,

Steady sphere,

Glowing warmly within you.

Know that this energy is always here ready to support you.

Bring your awareness back to your breath,

Noticing its natural rhythm.

Feel the weight of your body against the ground,

The texture of the surface beneath you.

Feel your body's weight,

Shape,

Size,

Gravity keeping you in one spot,

As your senses slowly come back on line.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,

Bringing small movements back to your body.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and return to the room that you're in,

Carrying with you this creative and balanced energy.

This practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete,

But do take a moment to just thank yourself for doing something for your well-being and for showing up in this way.
