During this practice we will be taking part in a visualization and the visualization is focused on our base chakra.
In Sanskrit the base chakra or the root chakra is known as Muladhara translated as the root of existence and is one of the seven primary chakras according to Hindu tantrism.
The base chakra is your energy center,
The center of safety,
Security and connection to the earth.
During this session we will work with the imagery of a warm red light grounding and stabilizing you whilst nourishing your connection to the here and now.
I invite you to find a comfortable and quiet space where you won't be disturbed.
Lie down in Shavasana or any position where you feel completely supported.
Close your eyes and settle into stillness and allow your awareness to rest on the sound of my voice.
If you're ready we can begin.
Take a deep breath,
Filling the lungs with air.
Feel the expansion of the ribcage and exhale.
Take a deep breath,
Feel the rising of the chest,
The expansion again of the ribcage and the abdomen and then exhale.
Feel the solid surface of the floor beneath you,
Maybe on carpet or a yoga mat but also feel the flooring beneath you,
Brick,
Concrete,
Wood perhaps,
All the way down into the earth rock.
Feel the whole earth supporting your relaxation.
I invite you to set an intention that you will access this practice in the best way that you can today,
Taking what works and leaving behind the bits that don't.
Bring your awareness to your right hand,
Feel the thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Little finger.
Notice the palm,
Back of the hand and wrist.
Bring your attention to the forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder and armpit.
Move down to the right side,
Sensing your ribs,
Waist,
Hip,
Thigh,
Knee,
Back of knee,
Shin,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole of the foot,
Top of the foot,
Each toe,
Big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Little toe.
Now shift your awareness to the left hand,
Feel the thumb,

Third finger,

Little finger.

Back of hand and wrist.
Bring your attention to the forearm,

Move down the left side,
Sensing your ribs,

Shift to the back of the body,
Feel the back of your head,
Neck,
Right shoulder,
Left shoulder.
Upper back,
Middle of back,
Lower back.
Sense the length of your spine resting on the ground beneath you.
Notice the back of your hips,
Thighs,
Calves and heels.
Now bring your awareness to the front of your body,
Sense the top of your head,
Forehead,
Right temple,
Left temple,
Right eye,
Left eye,
Cheeks,
Nose,
Lips,
Chin.
And throat,
Feel the chest,
Abdomen,
Pelvis and the front of both legs.
Finally feel your whole body together.
Feeling your whole body together from the crown of the head down to the tips of the toes.
Rest in the sensation of your entire body connected and at ease.
Wherever you are,
Feel the felt sense of your body lying or sitting on the ground.
Feel the earth rise up to catch and support you.
Visualize your worries washing away like waves slowly growing still.
You are here,
Alive and cared for,
You are protected.
Allow your eyes to gently close,
Take a deep breath,
Feeling it move through your body.
Visualize the breath traveling down your throat,
Through your lungs and into your abdomen.
Let the breath sink into your pelvis and thighs.
Feel your legs grow heavy and your spine rooting and grounding to the earth beneath you.
With each breath,
Bring your awareness further down into your lower back,
Spine and tailbone.
Here,
Imagine the very base of your spine,
A glowing sphere of bright red energy,
Like a glowing coal that releases a comfortable warmth and a soft red light.
Visualize this red light expanding from the tailbone,
Filling your lower back and pelvis.
It's warm and soothing,
Like a gentle massaging energy for your whole lower body.
Let the red light spread,
Healing and grounding as it moves.
Imagine it burrowing deep into the earth,
Forming strong,
Stable red roots of energy that connect you to the vital energy of the planet.
As these roots grow deeper,
Draw upon the earth's nourishing energy.
Visualize the red light pulsing,
Gently synchronizing with your breath.
With every inhale,
The red light grows brighter,
Stronger,
Filling your entire body.
With every exhale,
Release tension,
Release fear,
Release instability,
Release it all back into the earth,
Where it's transformed back into supportive,
Vital,
Generative energy.
Feel the red light spreading from the base of your spine,
Moving down through your legs and out into the ground.
Let it travel upward,
Filling your chest and arms and head.
See your entire body enveloped in this glowing red aura,
A cocoon of safety and support.
As you rest in this cocoon of red light,
Repeat silently or out loud,
I am grounded and connected to the earth.

Supported and secure.
I feel safe,

I trust in my foundation and my ability to meet life's needs.

Allow these affirmations to anchor within you.
Now visualize the red light spinning gently at the base of your spine,
Begins to draw in even more vibrant energy from the earth,
Cleansing and strengthening your root chakra.
The red light flows outward,
Filling your energy field with warmth and security.
See this light empowering you,
Rooting you firmly in the present moment.
Let it provide you with a solid base for building a meaningful and secure life.
Feel the light moving through your body,
Connecting to the energy of the earth.
Repeat to yourself,
I am connected to the energy of the earth.
I am connected to the energy of the earth.
My body,
Mind and spirit are grounded,
Centered and purified.
I have a right to be here and the earth supports me.
I have a right to be here and the earth supports me.
Feel the red lights glow as it strengthens your connection to the earth,
Reminding you that this is your home and your foundation.
When you're ready,
Allow the red light to slowly condense back into a small steady glow at the base of your spine.
Know that this light remains within you,
A source of grounding and stability that you can call upon whenever you need it.
Bring your attention to your breath,
Noticing its natural light,
The natural rhythm.
Feel the weight of your body against the ground.
Gently begin to move your fingers and toes.
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room.
When you feel ready,
Open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of grounding and safety with you.
Our practice together is now complete and you can return to this guided visualization whenever you need.
