Become aware of your being as you prepare for our meditation this evening,
By becoming
present,
By becoming aware of the fact of being conscious,
The fact of being aware.
We go about our daily life without consciously recognising the fact of being conscious,
The fact of being conscious.
I am conscious and I am conscious of being aware.
I am an aware being.
We have normalised absence of being.
Meditation calls us to normalise presence.
Initially meditation is an activity that we might have to prioritise in our lives,
But
eventually meditation guides us to recognise ourselves as meditation.
Meditation is not something that happens to us,
Meditation is what we are.
I am an aware being,
Conscious of being conscious.
And it is this recognition that meditation cultivates,
Awareness of being conscious.
All human suffering in its variety of expressions is due to lack of cognition of myself.
I am aware of things,
I am aware of experience.
Meditation,
However,
Calls me to be aware of the fact of being aware.
I can have my eyes closed or I can have my eyes open,
Sensing the beingness,
The weight
of this body in this chair,
The feet touching the ground for me,
Awareness of my hands,
The palms,
My material form,
Awareness of the fact of its breathing,
Awareness of my thoughts,
Stories.
All of this is part and parcel of my material form,
Which is being discerned,
Recognised
by awareness,
A deeper reality of awareness.
By journey from the material world outside,
To the body that is having this experience,
And by becoming aware of the physical experience of this body,
Through this noticing,
Sensing
the feeling of it in the hands,
The feet,
The sense of gravity pushing it down,
I move
deeper into the background of it,
The inner reality,
Which is vibrations.
So this body,
Which appears solid,
On the inside is immaterial,
It's just a vibrational
field of energy.
So I come from the world outside,
The world of sense,
Reality,
Experience,
To this being
that is sitting here,
Which appears to be solid and rigid on the outside,
Breathing
softly,
And I begin to recognise,
Acknowledge,
Accept that this physical form is just a field
of energy.
Now I decide to just stay attentive to this vibrating energy,
And to help me maintain
this shift from the physical to the energetic,
I might choose my breathing as a focal point,
As an anchor,
To deepen this inner connection with the energy form,
And I just sense the
energy,
Allowing the body to breathe softly,
Always returning from the physical to the
energetic.
