Blessings are like gifts we offer ourselves and each other. Beginnings mark the continuity of the cycles of life with optimism and expectancy. The journey brings the many and varied challenges and gifts which can rock us to the core or bring us to the heights of bliss. Endings also mark the cycles of life with transitions which can offer clarity, release, and even liberation. I hope this blessing offers you such a gift. Come In is an homage to all the courageous people I've met in my recovery programs who have vulnerably chosen to heal and liberate themselves in community with others. They inspire me every day. In listening, I hope you find inspiration to come more fully into this present moment. Thank you to Fred Clarke Alvarez for the beautiful music and Kelly Miller for the photo.

Transcript

Blessings are like gifts we offer to ourselves,

Each other and the world to mark occasions in the various stages of life.

As you listen,

I invite you to breathe in the words as if they're coming from deep inside your own heart and when there's a pause,

To take a slow,

Full breath,

Allowing them to sink in even more deeply.

This is an opportunity to take a break even for a few moments and rest in the peace which lies deep within.

Come in,

An invitation to be seen and heard.

Come all the way in.

Sit all the way down.

Into yourself.

Into the depths of surrender.

Into the bareness of what it is to share yourself so truthfully.

You have nowhere to hide,

Nowhere to turn but inward and outward,

To the faces meeting your eyes with such love and tender care,

Such empathy.

All you can do is to keep opening,

Pulling your foot into the room,

Closing the back door and letting it swing shut,

Leaving all the old stories of why you should have stayed outside,

Outside.

Come in.

Come all the way in.

Sit down.

All the way down.

And stay a while.
