In this invocation, join me as we allow our hearts to expand into the grief so many of us are feeling in these transformative times. May we allow them to break open, radiating the light of love born of compassion, blessing all who suffer and holding all beings with care and tenderness. It is time. as you listen, to the words i invite you to breathe them in as if they’re coming form deep inside your own heart, and when there’s a pause, to take a slow, full breath allowing them to sink in even more deeply. this is an opportunity to take a break, even for a few moments, and rest in the peace which lies deep within. thank you, Fred Clarke Alvarez, for the beautiful music.

Health comes in many forms.

Often it comes from beloved family and friends and the other than human world.

We can also call on the assistance of forces unseen but deeply felt in our hearts and bodies such as God,

Angels,

Or a higher power.

Regardless it seems to be easier to access when we ask with earnestness and humility.

For me,

It usually takes my willingness to let go of my desire to have everything wrapped in a tidy package,

I.

E.

Letting go of control,

To really open to the support I'm seeking.

It means truly surrendering myself to the greater care of something I can never quite name but which I feel pulsing through my entire being when I allow myself to get quiet enough.

Always gratitude helps me realign with the deep knowing that I'm supported and cared for in more ways than I can possibly imagine.

I hope this invocation offers you the same.

As you listen to the following words,

I invite you to breathe them in as if they're coming from deep inside your own heart.

And when there is a pause,

To take a slow,

Full breath,

Allowing them to sink in even more deeply.

This is an opportunity to take a break,

Even for a few moments,

And rest in the peace which lies deep within.

Invocation for opening our hearts.

Will you walk with me under these stars tonight through this landscape of humanity?

Will you stand by my side and bear witness to our forgetting?

The green and growing ones,

The crawlers and soil builders,

The swimmers and winged ones,

The four-legged,

The children and the old ones,

The rich,

The lonely ones,

The poor,

The crowded multitudes,

The confused,

The forgotten.

Will you walk with me to the heartbreaking precipice on which we stand?

Would you hold my hand tonight and tomorrow and beyond that,

Count to three and jump with me again and again,

Even if we don't know where it will take us?

My heart wants to sing to yours,

To show you through these eyes as best I can what I see.

The beauty,

The pain,

The awe,

The longing,

The horror,

The irony,

The grief,

The grief,

The beauty.

Did I say the beauty?

My arms want to hold you even as you think you could go crazy at the injustice of it all until you allow yourself to weep through the night for what we've done.

My fingers want to caress the tears from your tender cheeks as we stand welcoming the crescent of sun smiling over the hill,

Knowing that despite it all,

All is good.

Nothing is out of place.

May our hearts be broken open.

May our sturdy fortresses of selfhood be burned to the ground beneath our feet.

May our minds be lost and found amidst the ashes.

May we surrender all and forge a new way together.

It is time.

Now,

Breathe.

Breathe.
