This is a meditation for choosing yourself.
For moments when you're navigating heartbreak.
Or when you've had to walk away from someone you love.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
Once more,
Inhaling gently.
And exhaling slowly.
If it feels good,
Allow your eyes to close.
Take a moment to arrive here.
Noticing the surface beneath your body.
Feeling that steady support.
Allowing your shoulders to drop ever so slightly.
And as you listen to these words,
Allow your breath to ground you.
Breathing into any sensations that arise.
Seeing if you can approach your experience with some compassion and kindness.
Sometimes,
The most loving thing we can do for ourselves is also the most painful.
Choosing yourself can mean letting go of someone you still love.
And something you once wished would have worked out.
And that takes a lot of strength.
So if that is where you are right now.
.
.
I want you to take a moment to acknowledge the courage it takes to make that choice.
Even if it doesn't feel like courage.
Even if,
Right now,
It just feels like loss.
I want you to know this clearly.
Your capacity to love is not something to be ashamed of.
You deserve care.
You deserve to feel chosen too.
And the fact that you are here now.
Learning to turn some of that love back towards yourself.
Is something deeply meaningful.
Even if it hurts right now.
Choosing yourself isn't selfish,
It's an act of self-respect,
Of remembering your worth.
And as you move through this moment in your life,
We're going to practice being very gentle with ourselves.
Very patient.
Very compassionate.
Take another moment now to allow your body to soften.
And return to noticing your breath.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Let the breath be slow and natural.
Heartbreak can feel like waves moving through the body.
Sometimes heavy,
Sometimes sharp.
Other times,
Quiet.
Whatever you are feeling right now is welcome here.
You don't have to push it away Just breathe.
Breathing in through your nose.
And out through the mouth.
Let the exhale soften your shoulders.
Soften the space between your eyebrows.
Let the jaw unclench.
Let the body know it is safe to rest for a moment.
If your mind begins to wander to memories,
To questions,
To things left unsaid.
Just gently bring your attention back to the breath.
Inhale,
Exhale.
You are here.
You are breathing.
And that is enough for this moment.
Heartbreak can make us forget something very important.
Your worth has not changed.
You are still someone who deserves love.
Kindness.
Care.
Softness even now.
Especially now.
So for the next few breaths,
Let's practice offering some of that kindness to ourselves.
As you breathe in,
Silently say.
I am here for myself.
And as you breathe out,
Silently say,
I offer myself compassion.
Again,
Breathing in,
I am here for myself.
Breathing out.
I offer myself compassion.
Your heart is healing,
Even if it doesn't feel like it yet.
Every breath is a small step back towards yourself.
And slowly,
We begin remembering something deeper.
You are allowed to choose yourself.
Your peace,
Your well-being.
Your future.
You are allowed to build a life that feels safe,
Loving,
Nourishing.
Even if today feels heavy.
Even if the path forward isn't clear yet.
Trust that your life is still unfolding.
That there are people in this world who will meet you with kindness.
There are still moments of joy waiting for you.
There is still love in your story.
For now,
You don't need to figure everything out.
Just breathe.
Just be here.
Let your heart rest Place one hand over your heart if that feels comforting.
And take one slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Quietly reminding yourself.
I am worthy of love.
And know that little by little.
You are coming home to yourself.
