I created this guided meditation and movement practice to help you connect with your body. This practice is open to everyone, no matter the relationship with their body, even for those just starting to connect. We have our bodies for life, so it’s important to develop a healthy relationship with all parts of ourselves, and this practice is a great place to start. I guide you through some gentle movement, a shaking practice, and some affirmations to finish.

Welcome,

Get into a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

Just note,

Further into the meditation we'll be standing up as we start moving our bodies.

I know for some of you,

Even coming to this meditation is a huge step,

And I want to acknowledge you for even playing this meditation.

Your relationship with your body may not always be the most loving,

But you are here now,

And that is enough.

Taking a breath in,

And sighing it out.

This is a safe space for you and your body to connect.

If any resistance or judgement arises during this meditation,

That's ok,

Just come back to your breath and come back to the words I am speaking.

Taking another breath in,

And a sigh out.

Next,

Place your hands somewhere on your body,

On your heart,

Or on your womb or belly,

Or maybe giving yourself a little hug,

Whatever feels good for you.

Just connecting with your body here.

How does it feel?

Nice and comforting?

Or a bit uncomfortable and unfamiliar?

All of it is ok,

Wherever you are is ok.

Taking a deep breath in again,

Filling up your lungs and your chest and your belly,

The deepest breath you've taken in all day today and sighing it out,

Allowing your arms to fall to your side.

Next,

I invite you to stand up,

And we'll start to do some gentle movements to move into our bodies.

Start by gently swaying from side to side,

Maybe start moving your arms,

Gently moving your head from side to side,

Twisting your wrists one way,

The other way,

Twisting your ankles one way,

The other way.

Stretching out your legs,

Stretching out your arms,

Doing any movement here that feels good for you,

Maybe some twists,

Maybe some stretches.

And now,

I invite you to move into a shaking practice,

Start by increasing the speed of your movement,

Maybe shaking your hands out,

Shaking your arms,

Feel the energy releasing,

Moving,

Shaking your torso from side to side,

Shaking your hips,

Your legs,

Your feet,

Focus on this releasing of energy,

Letting out all the energy that is not yours to hold,

Releasing the energy in your body that does not serve you.

We'll do 30 more seconds of this,

Remembering to breathe here,

And even doing some big sighs out,

Sighing that energy out that is not yours,

Maybe even doing some jumps up and down,

Amazing,

Keep going,

10 more seconds,

Really letting it all out now,

Now starting to slow down your movements,

Stay standing and come into stillness,

Connect back with your body,

How does it feel now,

Does it feel like energy has been released,

Does it feel a bit more free,

Spacious,

Excited,

Now either coming into a sitting or lying down position or maybe staying standing if that feels good for you,

I will say some affirmations for you to connect deeper with your body,

You can repeat them silently or out loud,

My body is enough just as it is,

I send love to every part of me,

Thank you body for everything you do for me even when I forget to thank you,

Thank you body for everything you do for me even without me asking,

I am safe here,

I am connected to my body,

And my body is connected to me,

Amazing,

I am so proud of you,

I hope you feel one bit more connected to your body,

I hope you feel one more bit of love for your body and for yourself just as you are,

I send you so much love from my heart to yours,

Thank you.
