Welcome to today's gratitude through the breath meditation.

We will begin in a comfortable seated position.

Remember to keep your spine tall so you are expanding through the heart center.

Try and roll back your shoulders ever so slightly and when you're ready place your hands in your lap and slowly begin to close your eyes.

For this moment focus on your breath.

Try to feel your breath on the inhale.

You might notice it feels cool as you breathe in and warm as you breathe out.

For every inhale allow your stomach and rib cage to expand and then contract on the exhale.

As you continue through the breath try and think of the muscles you're using to help you breathe.

At the next inhale take a deep breath in really expanding the stomach and rib cage and hold for five seconds at the top.

Let's repeat this once more.

Inhale extra deeply expanding and lengthening and hold for five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One then exhale as you contract those breathing muscles.

At the bottom of this breath let's resume our natural breathing pace.

As we settle into our natural breath think about how amazing it is to be able to breathe,

To have life and to be able to create and curate our life as we please.

Let's give thanks for the gift of life,

For having a heartbeat and breathing in oxygen.

Let's give thanks to our homes,

For having shelter,

For having a warm meal,

A hot bath and clean running water.

Now let's bring our attention to our heart center.

Let's focus on feelings of compassion and love and empathy.

With this in mind think about something or someone you're grateful for.

We have already spoken about giving thanks for being alive and for our homes,

Places and things that perhaps make us happy.

Our homes provide us with shelter and being able to breathe and breathe in reasonably well oxygenated air is a blessing in and of itself.

Now let's turn to perhaps the people in our lives that make it just that little bit better and perhaps you can now think of someone in your life that has made you feel grateful and thankful and has motivated you,

Has loved you and cared for you.

Perhaps it's your partner or a sister,

Maybe a brother,

A friend,

Perhaps they're your children or a mentor.

Bring your attention to these people who nourish your life.

Now bring your attention to how giving thanks to these people and these gifts makes your heart feel.

I'm sure it's warm and feels abundant,

Flowy and oozes with warmth.

Now in line with our natural breath expand these feelings to your arms,

Your legs,

Your head,

Your hands and your feet.

Feel it reverberate through your entire body and your entire being.

As these sensations flow through each crevice of your body savor the moment.

Really lean into this feeling.

Let's try for another two deep breaths.

Let's breathe in for five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Exhale completely.

Now let's try again.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One and exhale completely.

And now on the bottom of this last exhale slowly open your eyes and bring yourself back into awareness.

I hope this gratitude through the breath meditation helped you find thanks for all those precious gifts in your life.

Thank you for joining me.

Namaste.
