Welcome to this meditation that will allow us to connect with the elemental qualities of air.

For the element of air,

We use the mantra YAM,

Which represents our connection to one another through an open heart and a lightness of being.

It is the quality of the Anahata Heart Chakra.

Lengthen your spine,

Open your chest,

Feel your posture as spacious and uplifted.

Allow your eyes to close and let your hands rest comfortably,

Palms up with your thumb and index finger joining together.

Come into an awareness of your breath,

Feel it flowing into your chest,

Filling and lifting your lungs and relaxing back out again.

Feel the rise and the fall of your breath in your chest.

Feel the quality of the air around you being taken in as breath.

With each breath,

Feel that you are opening and expanding your heart as wide as a vista.

Feel that you are opening your heart as an expansive container for love.

And as your breath continues to expand in your chest,

Connect with the centering thought for the air.

I am love.

I am love.

I am love.

Now we'll begin the practice of silently repeating the seed mantra YAM,

Coordinated with each of our inhalations.

So with each breath in,

Silently repeat YAM,

YAM,

YAM,

And allow the repetition of this mantra to continue.

I'll mind the time.

And if your attention drifts or wanders,

Just come back to your inhalations and YAM.

Feel your next inhalation rise in your chest even more expansively.

Exhale and repeat the centering thought mentally.

I am love.

And gently place your hands over your heart center and imagine smiling into the center of your chest,

Allowing that smile to spread widely across your heart space.

And we'll chant YAM together.

Please inhale deeply.

YAM.

Breathe that back in.

Bow your head gently toward your hands layered over your heart and honor this time that you have taken with Namaste.
