This guided meditation will take you on a forest walk leading to a beach on the native land of New Zealand. Abel Tasman is a beautiful national park nestled at the top of the south island, a place that once was home for me. It's an honour to share this practice.

Welcome to this guided meditation today.

It's an honor to share this session with you,

Connecting with the land of the long white cloud,

Aotearoa,

New Zealand.

Take in some deep breaths.

On each out breath,

Imagine you are letting go of anything that no longer serves you.

Simply arrive and recognize how your body feels today.

Observe the sensations,

Bringing awareness to your feet,

Knees,

Hips,

Lower belly,

Upper belly,

Chest,

Connecting with the heart,

Relaxing the shoulders away from the neck,

Bringing awareness into the face muscles,

The eyelids,

Relaxing the brow,

Relaxing the jaw.

Feeling the simplicity of your breath.

Notice how the body moves as you breathe.

As we take our journey today to the top of the South Island of New Zealand,

You find yourself on a beautiful walk in the wondrous Abel Tasman.

The journey at the beginning of the track takes you on some windy roads with trees upon trees and big boulders creating a pathway along an edge where you have a little glimpse of the tropical rainforest and the ocean of the Tasman Sea.

You walk via a sacred Maori walkway,

A carved entrance made from native wood as you enter this protected land.

The air is warm.

You feel the sun soothing your body from head to toe.

Walking across a long bridge across the water.

The tide is low so you can see the golden sands in the distance headed into the tropical forest.

The colours of green surrounding you,

Connecting with your heart,

Your Anahata,

Sweeping around your whole being.

All you can hear is the crunch of the land underneath your feet and the sound of the native birds above your head,

The tui,

The fantail,

The bellbirds and on the ground you also notice tiny little sparrows who are so friendly.

They come up close to you to show their appreciation for being there.

The sounds are so tropical around you,

Relaxing.

Noticing the sensations in your ears,

Tuning into the sounds,

This beautiful 360 degree experience nurturing you.

Along the path you also see native trees,

The silver fern,

They are a strong tree overhanging over the paths as you cross.

You move inland for some time and as you head in and out of the land you notice each part of the track has its own personality.

Continuing to walk up a slight incline,

Soon you will see so much beauty beneath you.

Glimmers of the ocean and golden beaches appear.

You now walk on the edgeway with the most spectacular views upon you,

The beaches speckled with glowing seashells and other gifts from the ocean.

The perfect place to explore.

You walk down some steps and when you reach the bottom of the steps you feel the warmth of the sunshine on the beach.

Floating onto the beach,

The ocean waves crashing,

The water so vividly blue,

Rocks and small islands in your view.

This is the perfect place to just be still,

To relax.

You find yourself the perfect place to sit,

A log on the beach,

Taking some time to rest the feet,

Taking your shoes off to feel the golden warm sand in your toes.

What else is possible in this moment?

Feeling grateful for the beautiful surroundings of the Abel Tasman.

Whole body resting here.

Allowing the images of your walk today to slowly dissolve.

Bringing yourself back to the simplicity of your breath.

Noticing the rhythm of your breath,

In-breath and out-breath.

Bringing some gentle movement back into the body.

Some energy in the toes,

The ankles,

The fingers,

Hands and wrists.

And if it feels nice for you,

Perhaps bringing yourself into a whole body stretch with the arms above your head.

Thank you for spending this time to meditate with me today.

I wish you well,

Light and love.

And Aroha.
