Begin to arrive and settle in,
Taking a seat on a chair,
A couch,
Your bed.
But see if you can place your feet firmly on the ground.
Making that connection with the floor beneath you.
And then when you're ready,
Begin to close off your eyes.
Softening through the shoulders,
Softening through the heart.
Now take a slow breath in.
And let something go.
Again.
Gently inhale,
Fill up.
And a soft,
Controlled exhale.
Again,
See if you can notice where your feet meet the ground.
And see if you can be where your feet are.
Right here.
Right now.
Now nothing good in life requires a tight grip.
Not love,
Not healing.
Not your future.
Not even this moment.
If you notice yourself reaching for certainty,
Trying to solve.
Predict.
Or even control what hasn't happened yet.
See if,
Just for this moment,
You can soften your grip.
You don't have to figure everything out right now.
You don't have to force peace.
You only have to be here.
Feel the support beneath you.
Feel your breath moving in and out.
This moment is asking for your presence,
Not your perfection.
Control is an illusion,
But this breath right here is real.
The ground beneath your feet is real.
Your body,
Here in this moment,
Is real.
Remind yourself.
I release what I cannot control.
I return to where my feet are.
I can meet this moment with softness.
I don't need all the answers to be safe.
I trust myself to take the next step when it comes.
Now take one more slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhale.
Gently release.
Allow yourself to soften.
And allow this moment to be enough.
