I am so excited that you are here with me today.
I have some really special things to share with you.
First,
We will be making a force field to protect our hearts,
And then I have a story that I want to share with you.
It is one of my family's favorites.
The force field that we are going to make is to help us to manage when life gets hard.
Sometimes we can get sick or hurt.
Sometimes we lose people who we love.
And sometimes the grown-ups in our lives are hurting too,
And they can't always give us everything that we need or love us the way that we need because of this.
We have so many big emotions.
Sometimes we are happy,
Giggly,
Excited.
And other times we are so sad that our hearts ache and we cry.
Or we get so angry that we want to scream and smash things.
Life can be so confusing and feel so big.
But I am here to tell you some really important things that I know about you.
I know that you are strong.
I know that your heart is sweet and full of love.
The big emotions will come and go and your heart will stay strong because you are a warrior.
A warrior for good.
I know that you have special gifts.
They were planted in your heart when you were born and you are developing into the person that the world needs you to be.
The earth,
The animals,
The people need you to shine.
I want to help you to protect your special heart and your special gifts.
That is why we are making a force field today.
You will need your imagination for this.
The first thing that I want you to imagine is a big glass bowl.
You will also need a mixing spoon.
We are going to mix up our force fields in this bowl.
The first ingredient that we will need today is water.
It has to be special water.
So imagine your favorite water and transport yourself to this place.
I live in Victoria,
BC in a country called Canada.
There is a beach near me called Glass Beach.
This is where I am going for my water.
When you get to your water source,
Get one cup of water and put it in your bowl.
I am also going to grab a few pieces of beach glass from my beach.
There are so many here.
I will choose a green one and a blue one.
Okay I put those into my force field batter too.
Feel free to add your own special things to your force field.
You are smart so you know what will work.
Just trust your intelligence.
The next ingredient that we will need is light.
You will need quite a bit of it.
Pull some from the sun,
The sky,
The stars,
Maybe even from the lights in the room.
Mix the light with the water.
The light should start to thicken.
My beach glass has broken into tiny pieces so I have little flecks of green and blue in my force field batter.
It looks really beautiful.
We just have two more ingredients to add before our force field is complete.
The next ingredient is honey.
The force field needs to be sticky.
Glue might work too if you'd prefer.
You'll need two cups.
Mix it in with the water and the light.
Now it is time for our final ingredient.
The last ingredient is love.
Just one drop.
You get this by imagining something that makes you happy.
I am imagining petting our bunny.
She likes to snuggle and have her nose rubbed.
She has the softest,
Silkiest gray fur.
As soon as you get that warm,
Lovey,
Smiley feeling,
Just pull off a little string of it and pop it into the bowl.
Once the love is in,
Give your force field one more mix.
Next we take the bowl and start to pour the mix on the top of our heads.
Feel it as it covers your scalp,
Ears,
Eyes,
And lips.
It is sticky and warm from the light.
It sparkles like the water.
Now feel it moving over your neck and gently over your shoulders,
Back,
And chest.
Feel it run down your arms and hands.
Shake off the drops as it moves over your fingers.
Feel it cover your tummy and hips and roll down your legs to your ankles,
Feet,
And toes.
Let any excess or extra get soaked up by the earth.
Okay we have a force field.
Take a minute to notice how it feels on your body.
See it glittering?
This force field will provide some protection for us so that nobody can take or touch our special gifts.
It seals our gifts and beauty inside of us.
It is also able to burn off some of the dark energy and negativity that is out there in the world.
Now that we have our force fields on,
I have just one more thing that I'd like to share with you before I let you go.
It is a story.
It is a story that I have been reading to my son Sam since he was just a little baby and now he's almost eight.
I used to think that it was about my love for him,
But as one of those grown-ups that we talked about earlier who sometimes has a hard time,
I came to realize that the story is about something bigger than my love.
I think it's about God's love or maybe the love that the universe has for all of us.
A love that is unfaltering,
Unconditional,
And always available when we need it.
The story is called Wherever You Are,
My Love Will Find You.
It's written by Nancy Tillman.
I want to do more than you ever will know,
So I sent love to follow wherever you go.
It's high as you wish it,
It's quick as an elf,
You'll never outgrow it,
It stretches itself.
So climb any mountain,
Climb up to the sky,

Make a big splash,
