Welcome!

Today we will practice meditation based on mantra chanting.

Chanting mantra is one of the most powerful ways to get connected with the divine.

Mantras have psychological and spiritual powers and help us to bring harmony and peace to our life.

Gently close your eyes and relax while listening.

Mahamrityanjay Mantra also known as Triyambakam Mantra is a verse of the Rig Veda and one of the most significant mantras.

According to Shiv Puran,

When you have fear of any unknown event,

This chant helps you overcome the fear.

This mantra is dedicated to Lord Shiva,

The supreme being who creates,

Protects and transforms the universe.

Its meaning is as follows.

Om,

We worship the Triyambak.

Triyambak is a three-eyed one,

Shiva,

Who is fragrant as in the spiritual essence,

Increasing the nourishment of our spiritual core and freeing from these many bondages of the sansara.

May I be liberated from death so that I am not separated from the immortal essence pervading everywhere.

Om Triyambakam Yajamahi Sukandhim Pushthivardhanam Urvārukmi vandanāt,

Mṛtyu urmokṣi yama mṛtāt Om Triyambakam Yajamahi Sukandhim Pushthivardhanam Urvārukmi vandanāt,

Mṛtyu urmokṣi yama mṛtāt Om Triyambakam Yajamahi Sukandhim Pushthivardhanam Urvārukmi vandanāt,

Mṛtyu urmokṣi yama mṛtāt Om Triyambakam Yajamahi Sukandhim Pushthivardhanam Urvārukmi vandanāt,

Mṛtyu urmokṣi yama mṛtāt

A beautiful and Divine rendition of a familiar mantra. I appreciated hearing the introduction, as it gave me a wider perspective on the different applications of this mantra ( I just thought this was the emergency mantra you use when someone is close to death). I would really like to hear many more mantras and uploads from this teacher. Om Shanti!
