Today's mantra is a Shanti mantra.

Asato Ma Sadgamaya is from Brihad Aranyaka Upanishad.

Its meaning is as explained.

Aum.

Take me from unreal to real.

Take me from darkness unto light.

Take me from mortality to immortality.

Aum.

Peace.

Peace.

Peace.

The unreal is a phenomenal world.

Reality means eternal self.

Darkness is the ignorant state and light is the spiritual knowledge.

Mortality is of the world and immortality is of self-realization.

Aum.

I remember this chant from the 70’s when I practiced yoga in San Francisco. Every Satsang ended with this chant. It is a blessing to hear it again and have so many wonderful memories activated. Namaste.
