As you prepare yourself for this meditation,
Make sure that you're in a comfortable position.
Make sure your spine is straight and relaxed,
Your shoulders are down,
Your palms are resting on your knees.
Once you're comfortable,
You may close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Take a deep breath out.
Again,
Take a deep breath in,
Take a deep breath out.
Found yourself in the here and now,
Be present to what is right here,
Right now.
Whatever you're feeling in this moment,
It's okay.
In this present moment,
You are okay.
Don't let anything convince you otherwise.
Maybe you're stressed out about something and you can't seem to get it out of your mind.
What if you gave yourself a few minutes to be here now,
To be here with the meditation?
Perhaps clearing your mind right here,
Right now,
Will provide you with space you need to figure things out after the meditation.
Give yourself the gift of now,
Just that you'll be guided to where you need to be.
Maybe simply focus on the here and now,
Anchoring into your breath.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Again,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Have you ever noticed that the mind never fails to find something to latch onto?
Let's say that you found yourself very unhappy at your job.
Naturally,
Your mind fixates on how unhappy you are until you do something about it.
And so,
Maybe you find yourself a new job and things are better.
But then,
Your mind finds something else to fixate on,
Whatever it may be.
You see,
Your mind is very good at doing its job.
It thinks and it analyzes and it does all of this on a repetitive loop because it wants to keep you safe.
It wants to protect you.
But in the process,
Ironically,
Your mind prevents you from experiencing peace of mind.
Let me remind you that peace of mind is always available to you.
It's available to you right here,
Right now.
You're only stressed and worried because you've let your thoughts take you down a rabbit hole of worst case scenarios.
There's no need to run with your thoughts.
Stay in the present moment,
Sweet child.
For the more you can stay here now,
Letting my voice guide you,
The easier it will be for you to stay present in your life.
The easier it will be for you to stay present even when things don't go as intended.
Regardless of external circumstances,
You'll know that there's an inner refuge within you that cannot be touched.
You're building that inner refuge by staying present in this moment.
And like anything else in life,
This takes practice.
If this were easy,
Everyone around you would be enlightened beings.
But as you know,
This simply isn't the case.
All of this is to say,
You're not the only one who finds it challenging to stay grounded in the moment.
Give yourself some grace and compassion,
Just like you would give a loved one,
A good friend,
A dear pet.
The brain is like any other muscle in the body.
It's not meant to be used all the time.
Yes,
Exercising is good for the body and the body also needs rest days.
Similarly,
It's good to use the brain to figure things out in life and it also requires rest.
The truth is when you're able to rest your mind,
You'll then be able to rest your body.
And when you're able to rest your body,
Then you'll be able to rest your mind.
The mind-body connection is very real.
So honor you and your body by simply being right here,
Right now.
Pass your thoughts to the side for a moment,
Where no one can give you a sense of peace.
Even if there are people in your life who can comfort you,
They can't be there every time something happens.
But you,
Sweet child,
Have the power to cultivate peace of mind within you.
Again,
Once you build an inner refuge,
You'll be able to find calm,
Despite the external circumstances swirling around you.
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner one.
Calm your mind and your life will be calm.
Nothing is worth stressing out about because it's simply not worth it.
You,
On the other hand,
Are.
You are worth it.
You are worthy of peace.
May you breathe in your worthiness and may you breathe out your worries.
Again,
Breathe in your worthiness and breathe out your worries.
You sweet child,
Are worthy.
