There are moments in life where the hardest part is not what is happening.
It's everything you imagined could happen.
The conversation you have not had yet.
The result you are waiting for.
The decision you are afraid to make.
The change you can feel coming but can't clearly see.
Nothing has happened.
And somehow,
You are already exhausted.
Because your mind has traveled everywhere.
Every possible scenario,
Every possible mistake,
Every possible ending.
You have lived through ten different futures before even experiencing one.
And maybe the strangest thing about uncertainty is that we often believe knowing the answer will finally make us feel peaceful.
If I just knew how this ends,
I could relax.
If I knew I was making the right choice,
I could move forward.
If someone could promise me everything will work out,
I would stop worrying.
But let's be honest,
Life rarely gives us that kind of guarantee.
So think about the biggest changes you have already survived.
The ones that once terrified you.
A decision you didn't want to make.
A decision you didn't know how to make.
A goodbye you didn't feel ready for.
A beginning that felt uncomfortable.
At that time,
You probably wanted certainty.
You wanted proof.
You wanted someone to tell you exactly how everything would unfold.
But when you look back now,
You can probably see something you could not see then.
You didn't need to know every step.
You learned because you moved through it.
And most of us don't trust uncertainty because we forget our own history.
We focus on the unknown ahead.
But we ignore all the unknowns we already survived.
You see,
There was a time when the life you have today was something you had not figured out yet.
There was a time when the person you are today didn't exist.
And you became this version of yourself by walking through situations you didn't completely understand.
And still,
When the next uncertain chapter arrives,
The fear returns.
Because the brain loves familiarity,
Even when the familiar is uncomfortable.
People stay in situations that make them unhappy.
And it's not because they love those situations.
It's because at least they know them.
The job you dislike but understand.
The relationship patterns that hurt but feel familiar.
The routines that no longer inspire you but feel safe.
The unknown asks something different from you.
It asks for trust before evidence.
And that is quite difficult,
I agree.
So,
Maybe the goal is not to become someone who never feels anxious about the future.
Maybe the goal is to stop treating uncertainty as proof that something is wrong.
Think about the situation in your life right now where you are waiting for an answer.
Something unresolved,
Something unclear.
And I want you to notice what your mind wants to do.
It probably wants to run ahead,
Predict,
Prepare,
Protect.
So ask yourself,
What do I actually know today?
And not what you know from fear or what you imagine or what could possibly happen.
Only what you know.
Most of the time,
Uncertainty becomes heavier because we mix facts with fears.
A fact sounds like,
I don't know the outcome yet.
A fear sounds like,
The outcome will probably be bad.
Another example.
A fact sounds like I am entering a new chapter.
A fear sounds like I won't be able to handle this chapter.
And the more we learn to separate the two,
The more space we create.
So here's something you can try.
I invite you to write down something you are currently worried about.
You create two columns.
In the first one,
You write what I know,
And in the second one,
What my mind is adding.
And you may be surprised how much of the weight you carry comes from a story around the situation,
Not only the situation itself.
And once you have done this,
I want you to ask yourself one final question.
If I cannot have certainty right now,
What can I create instead?
Maybe you can't create certainty,
But you can create support.
Maybe you can't predict the result,
But you can decide your next small action.
Maybe you cannot know exactly who you will become,
But you can choose how you treat yourself while becoming that person.
Because life is mostly lived without knowing what comes next.
We just forget that.
Before the first attempt,
The transformation before the first step.
At some point,
Everything meaningful in your life was unfamiliar.
So maybe uncertainty isn't always the place where things fall apart.
Sometimes it's simply the space between who you were and who you are becoming.
