This meditation guides the listener to imagine their mind as a room and to declutter it by organizing thoughts and sorting out what is important and what is not. By doing so, the mind becomes calmer and clearer, leading to a relaxed and peaceful state. The meditation ends with the listener falling asleep.

So lying down now and making yourself comfortable,

Taking a deeper breath in and slowly letting it out as you close your eyes.

Allowing your eyes to comfortably close as you sink a little deeper down into the bed.

Allowing gravity to take hold,

Connecting with your breath,

Just noticing the flow of your breath in and out.

Noticing that with the out breath there's a little relaxation,

A little softening,

A letting go.

Allow each out breath to take you that little bit deeper down,

Deeper within,

A little heavier,

A little more relaxed.

Sinking down into the bed.

I want you to imagine your mind as a room.

Notice the furniture in the room,

The colours,

The shapes,

The textures.

How does that room of your mind look?

Does it need tidying up?

Does it feel cluttered?

Are there things within the room of your mind that need to be sorted out,

Put back into the right place?

Do that now.

Take some time to declutter.

Noticing that if you come across something that's important,

You should file it.

File it in a box marked important.

Put it aside for the future.

If you come across things that are trivial,

Unneeded,

Unwanted,

Put them in the bin in that room.

Noticing that as you do this,

As you declutter this room,

As you tidy it,

As you put things back into the rightful places,

Your mind is becoming calmer.

And as your mind is becoming calmer,

Your body is switching off,

Slowing down,

Releasing,

Relaxing.

Your mind becoming cleaner,

Clearer,

Calmer.

Your body releasing and relaxing.

What else do you need to do in the room of your mind to take you down towards sleep?

Does the room need more light or less light?

Does the room need to be warmer or cooler?

Take some time now to get the room of your mind perfect for drifting down into sleep.

And now letting go completely,

Allowing yourself to drift deeper and deeper asleep.

Deeper and deeper asleep.

Deep down asleep.

Letting go.

Letting go.

Letting go.

I love filing each thought into where it belongs, and the freedom I feel from the constant thoughts flying around my head! Gives me a sense of control and clarity to focus on my breath and the peace that it brings. Thank you 🙏
