So taking some time to sit down,
Make yourself comfortable,
Take a deeper breath in and out and closing down the eyes,
Allowing the eyes to rest and relax and connect with your breathing.
Slowly,
Notice the flow of your breathing,
Taking you a little deeper within.
In these days of instant communication,
Text messages,
Email,
Information at our fingertips,
We can often lose the gift of patience.
Our mind starts to play tricks on us,
Waiting for people or answers.
The first step in practising mindfulness and improving your patience is to be aware of your thoughts and emotions.
Awareness doesn't require qualifying them as bad or good,
Just noting them.
See your thoughts as an unbiased viewer.
When you start to practise this and realise that your thoughts are neither bad or good,
You realise how often the inner chatter causes issues when we're waiting on something.
The law of attraction states that the more we focus on something,
The more we get it.
So the more we wait on something,
The more waiting we seem to have.
Become mindful,
Connect with your breath and allow the thoughts of impatience to drift by,
And the answers will come to you,
As they always do.
And bringing this technique back with you,
You can take a gentle stretch,
Take a slightly deeper breath in and out,
And open your eyes,
Returning to the day.
