So sitting down,
Making yourself comfortable,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a nice gentle deeper breath in and out and closing down the eyes,
Allowing them to rest and relax,
Connecting with your breath,
Noticing the in and out,
The natural flow of the breath.
When we find ourselves in times of overwhelm,
When we feel scattered and anxious,
Stressed and uncertain,
Our conscious mind gets overwhelmed quite easily.
The conscious mind can't think of that many things at the one time.
At times of overwhelm and stress,
The conscious mind gets overloaded.
It blocks the way to the inner might,
The resources,
Your abilities,
Strengths and skills.
The parts of you that know solutions,
That can be creative in these times,
Simply by closing the eyes and drifting down into the breath,
The conscious mind starts to quieten down.
The thoughts start to slow down and as they do,
You regain access to the resources that you have always had.
The resources that are always there.
The resources that will give you control back,
A little bit of certainty,
Knowing the next steps to take.
The lesson is to do less in times of overwhelm and let your inner mind take over.
And with those thoughts in mind,
You can have a gentle stretch,
A slightly deeper breath in and out,
And you can open your eyes and return to the day.
