Hi there,
Welcome back to Insight Timer.
I'm Stephen,
And I'll be your guide for this meditation,
Which is an invitation to practice accepting imperfection,
Perhaps another definition of love.
As you settle in and arrive in the spirit of this practice,
Notice what signals might suggest that some part of your meditation experience needs to be perfect.
What parts of you feel obliged to meditate,
To think or to not think in a certain way,
To sit or hold your posture in some sort of supposedly perfect way.
Notice where there might be some sense of should.
Acknowledge it.
And invite yourself.
To accept and to embrace a less than perfect experience.
Maybe you take a breath and it's not deep enough.
Let that be your breath.
Maybe you wonder if you have enough time.
To meditate.
Notice that.
Accept that thought.
Which parts of you I feel like they're not quite enough right now.
Knowledge.
You cannot change,
You cannot fix that part of you can accept it.
We can hold,
We can sit with.
Imperfection.
You can breathe with imperfection.
Can sit with imperfection.
We can meditate with imperfection.
And it's not just that we can do these things.
In many ways we have no choice.
What if there is no perfect?
Notice where there might be judgment.
Not to invite shame of judgment.
An opportunity rather.
To invite acceptance.
Turn inward.
Within yourself.
Which parts of you feel less than perfect right now.
I see you.
I honor you.
Thank you for being.
Imperfect.
And as you feel your presence in your world,
The environment around you.
What do you notice is imperfect?
I see you.
I honor you.
Thank you for being imperfect.
And end the bond between us.
In our collective human connection.
I see you.
I honor you.
And thank you.
For being imperfect.
Thank you for practicing imperfectly.
Thank you for meditating imperfectly.
Thank you for being.
The only way there is to be.
Imperfectly.
