Find yourself a quiet space where you won't be interrupted for the next 10 minutes or so.

If you need to pause while you settle in,

Go ahead and do that.

Get comfortable,

Whether that's sitting in a chair with your feet on the ground or lying down.

Whatever works for you.

And if you're sitting,

Let your spine be long but not rigid.

Roll your shoulders back and down.

Let your head balance naturally on top of your neck.

Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.

If not,

Just soften your gaze.

Start to notice your breath.

Not changing it,

Just noticing.

Where does the air go?

Into your chest or your belly?

What's the temperature of the air as it moves in and out?

Take a slow,

Deep breath in through your nose.

And let it all out through your mouth.

Two more like that.

Now let everything else fall away.

This is your time.

I want you to imagine your awareness lifting.

Not your body,

Just your awareness.

You start to rise above yourself,

Slowly at first.

You can look down and see yourself sitting there exactly where you are right now.

Keep rising and you begin to see the room that you're in.

The furniture,

The walls.

You keep going up and now you can see the roof of the building.

The street,

The neighborhood around you.

Higher still,

You see the whole city or town where you are.

The landscape.

Maybe there are trees.

Maybe mountains.

Maybe the ocean in the distance.

And you rise through the clouds.

The air gets thinner,

Lighter.

And now you're in space.

You can see the whole planet in front of you.

This beautiful blue and green sphere just floating.

And it starts to turn,

Slowly at first and then faster.

Spinning forward through time.

Days blur into weeks,

Weeks into months,

Months into years.

It spins until it lands on a moment maybe five years from now.

The planet slows and stops.

And you begin to descend.

You're coming back down through the atmosphere,

Through the clouds.

You start to see land again.

Maybe familiar.

Maybe somewhere new.

You land,

Softly,

Outside of a place.

A home maybe.

Or an office.

Somewhere that belongs to your future self.

Take a moment to notice.

Where are you?

What does this place look like?

What does the air feel like here?

You walk toward the door.

And you open it.

And you step inside.

Notice the space.

The walls.

What's on them?

Are there photos?

Art?

Nothing at all?

What does it smell like?

Is there coffee or a beverage brewing?

Fresh air from an open window?

Is there something cooking?

And you hear movement.

You see them.

Your future self.

And wow,

They look good.

Healthy.

At ease.

Watch them for a moment.

What are they doing?

Are they rushing?

Moving slowly?

Are they alone?

Or is someone else here with them?

Who else is here?

Take a moment to look around.

Your future self is getting ready to head out.

They're about to go do the work they love.

The work that lights them up.

The work that people actually pay them to do.

Follow them.

Where do they go?

Is it an office?

A studio?

Their own home?

Somewhere else entirely?

And what are they working on?

Who are they working with?

What part of this do they love the most?

You can't quite see all the details.

Maybe what they're doing doesn't even exist yet in your present time.

But you can feel it.

You can feel how it makes them feel.

Stay with that feeling.

And now the work day is winding down.

Where does your future self go next?

Home?

Out with friends?

To volunteer?

To a quiet place alone?

How do they move through the world?

Is it walking?

Biking?

Driving?

Something else?

Notice how they take care of themselves.

What keeps them healthy?

How do they spend their energy?

Who shows up in the last hours of their day?

A partner?

Friends?

Family?

Themselves?

What are they saving for?

Something big?

Something that matters?

Get curious about that.

The day is ending.

And your future self is settling in.

Maybe they're sitting by a window.

Maybe by a fire.

Maybe just on the couch.

And then they notice you.

They've been expecting you.

They smile and stand up.

Give you a hug.

A real one.

And they invite you to sit with them.

What do you need to know?

What question has been sitting with you?

Ask them.

Listen to what they say.

And now ask them,

What do I need to know right now to get to where you are?

They think for a moment.

And then they reach behind them and hand you a small box.

Open it,

They say.

You open it.

Inside is something.

An object.

A symbol.

Something that represents what you need to know.

Take a moment to really see it.

To understand what it means.

Your future self smiles at you.

You've got this,

They say.

You hug them again.

A little tighter this time.

You feel yourself starting to lift again.

Your awareness rising.

You look down one last time at your future self.

And they wave.

And you wave back.

And then you're up through the ceiling.

Above the building.

Above the city.

Back through the clouds into space.

The planet starts spinning again,

Backward this time.

Years are winding.

Months.

Weeks.

Days.

Until it lands back on today.

And you descend through the atmosphere.

Through the clouds.

Back over the landscape.

Back to the city or town where you started.

Back to the building.

The room.

And your body.

You land gently back with yourself.

You start to feel your fingers and your toes.

The weight of your body.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Welcome back.

Grab your pen.

Your workbook.

Whatever you have nearby.

And make notes about everything that you remember.

The details.

The feelings.

The questions.

The answers.

The objects and symbols.

No need to edit or question.

Just write.

And take as long as you need.
