Welcome to this new year meditation.
It's Anushma here and today we are going to close the chapter of 2025 and step into 2026 with intention,
Openness,
Clarity,
And hope.
I invite you to find a calming space free of distractions.
You may also want to have a pen and a journal next to you to write down the insights received as you complete this new year meditation.
So let's begin by finding a position that's comfortable for you,
Maybe that's sitting on the floor or the couch or even lying down.
Now,
Softly close your eyes.
Sense your body and all the life that lives inside it.
And just like a cup is filled with water,
Your body is filled with awareness.
Relax the muscles of your face and clench your jaw,
Soften your chest.
As I count down from 3 to 1,
You'll take a deep breath and in each breath you'll gently arrive to a relaxed state of mind.
2 You are now fully relaxed and ready to begin this new year meditation.
We will begin by gently traveling back through the memories that shaped this past year.
I'll guide you through a light scan first and afterward you'll have time to explore what arises more deeply on your own.
So for now simply bring into your awareness whatever memories come naturally from 2025.
There is no need to judge,
Analyze,
Or force anything.
This is just a gentle noticing.
And often the first things to appear in our memory are the challenges so allow them to surface without resistance,
Simply witnessing.
And now shift your attention to the lessons those moments brought you,
The places you traveled to,
The moments of joy and ease,
The people who supported you,
Inspired you,
Or walked alongside you.
3 Now you'll have a moment in silence so you can follow the memories that want to be seen at your own pace.
You may begin.
As you reflect you may notice emotions arising.
It can be resistance,
Grief,
Tenderness,
Maybe joy or gratitude.
Let them move through you like waves on the shore.
Nothing needs to be held onto or pushed away.
Offer yourself gentleness as you move between these moments.
Everything you lived in 2025,
Every high,
Every low,
Every quiet in between has shaped who you are today.
Now take a slow breath in and begin to imagine a serene landscape opening before you.
It might be the ocean,
A forest,
A mountain,
Or any place that feels grounding and alive.
See yourself standing at the edge of this landscape,
Gazing toward the horizon.
This moment represents your transition from the past into the present.
And you notice that you're holding a handful of colorful balloons,
Each one holding a worry,
A disappointment,
A fear.
This is the time for you to let go of any lingering weight from the past year.
Some balloons might even have words written on them.
So if a word appears,
Read it gently.
And you may ask yourself,
What is ready to be released?
Now,
On an exhale,
Imagine one balloon floating up and away,
Higher and higher until it disappears in the sky.
And as you open your hand,
All the balloons drift away and you feel your body becoming lighter,
More spacious,
More liberated.
There is a sense of expansion in your chest.
And that is the gratitude for the year that has passed,
The people you have shared life with,
The joy,
The lessons,
The person you have become.
Thank you,

Now shift your gaze toward the horizon.
See the sun gently setting on this chapter.
Feel the calmness and closure that comes with witnessing an ending and the quiet knowing that a new beginning waits just beyond it.
Now,
As the chapter of 2025 closes gently behind you,
You find yourself standing beneath a vast night sky.
It's quiet,
Still,
Open,
A black canvas stretching infinitely above you just like the screen of a cinema before a film begins.
And then,
Softly,
The screen begins to glow.
A projection appears.
It is you,
The version of you stepping into 2026.
And as if you were watching a movie trailer of your future,
Scenes begin to unfold across the sky.
You see yourself taking care of your body,
Feeling strong,
Energized,
And alive.
You see moments where you project your mental and emotional well-being,
Choosing clarity over distraction,
Choosing boundaries,
And calm.
You see yourself deepening your spiritual connection,
Trusting your intuition,
Finding meaning in the small moments,
And feeling guided and supported.
You also witness achievements,
Big and small,
That you feel proud of.
You see yourself navigating challenges with resilience and self-compassion.
You see friends,
Community,
Family,
Moments of laughter,
Belonging.
You see yourself expressing your love and being loved in return.
You feel held and connected to life.
You see yourself experiencing joy.
Not necessarily the loud kind of joy,
But the quiet,
Steady joy of someone living in alignment.
I'll give you a moment to let these images play across the night sky,
As if the universe is revealing the possibilities that already exist within you.
Now,
Notice that the sky is beginning to shift,
The deep midnight blue softens,
And the visions step out of the screen and move closer and closer to you,
Until they merge with your heart,
With your body,
And you become the person you saw in the movie.
And with each inhale,
The world around you grows brighter,
Warmer,
Softer,
And the first colors of dawn begin to paint the sky.
And as the sun rises above the horizon,
You realize you are rising with it,
Stepping into the new year.
This is 2026.
Welcome.
You feel grounded,
Confident,
Grateful,
And excited to step into these possibilities with intention.
Take a deep breath in,
Receiving the fresh start of a new year,
And exhale.
And when you feel ready,
Return your presence to the room,
To your body.
Gentle wiggle your fingers,
Your toes,
And open your eyes.
Find your journal and write down the scenes,
Emotions,
Or messages that came through.
And remember,
You are the author of your story,
And the pages of 2026 are waiting for you.
Take this vision with you,
And return to this meditation whenever you need to reconnect.
