Hello and welcome to this meditation.
This one is meant to help you calm down,
Perhaps after a long day or a long week.
For this one I will invite you to lay down,
To get as comfortable as you can be.
Lay on your back if you can,
Extend your legs all the way out.
Allow your feet to fall apart from one another.
Allow yourself to be supported by the earth underneath you.
Place your arms by your sides with the palms facing up.
Let your shoulders relax.
Allow your arms to be heavy by your sides and your fingers to just gently curl.
Remove all the facial expressions.
Relax your tongue away from the roof of your mouth.
Allow your eyelids to become really heavy.
Follow your breath.
Let it come with ease,
Without wanting to change anything.
It's so important to have moments of nothing.
Moments of calmness and peace.
This is it.
Every time you exhale,
See if you can become a little softer,
A little bit more relaxed.
I live in Canada and in this time of year it's winter.
It's a really beautiful time to be more still,
To rest,
To turn inward.
Take this little moment in your life to simply be with yourself.
I find winter to be very calming.
I love to curl up and slow things down.
To spend time beside a nice fire and simply relax.
As you continue to breathe,
Use your exhale to release anything that is no longer serving you.
If you feel tension anywhere in your body,
Let it go with your breath as you exhale.
When you are letting go,
You actually create space within yourself for calmness,
For peace.
This season is really an amazing time to reflect.
When you have moments of quietness,
You allow things to come up to the surface.
It is coming up for you.
Don't go on to the details and the stories,
But simply welcome the emotions that may be arising at this time.
Perhaps imagine some nice snow falling outdoors on a quiet evening while you are warm and cozy.
Maybe you can imagine a light coat of snow on the trees,
On the lawn.
As you are resting here,
Simply taking time for yourself.
Enjoy this moment of being.
Apply on your own breath to support you through this season,
Through this moment.
Allow yourself to surrender.
Notice how much more relaxed you already are.
Continue to imagine this light snow falling and covering everything.
A cold blanket over nature,
Over yourself.
Let yourself feel this coziness that comes from stillness.
Notice if there is any part of your body that you can soften some more.
Anything further that you can let go of to find this inner peace.
You are at ease.
You are here.
Stay here longer if you have more time.
Enjoy this stillness as long as you can.
Or if you are ready to move on with the rest of your day,
Simply start to deepen your breath and reawaken your body gently with little wiggles.
I invite you to a peaceful rest of your day.
Thank you.
