I’m Caroline, your guide on this journey. As someone who personally manages ADHD and PMDD, I created this meditation from my heart, hoping to offer you relief and relaxation. You are not alone in this, and it’s my honor to hold this space for you. Welcome to this deeply soothing sleep meditation designed specifically for women navigating the emotional waves of PMDD. Living with PMDD can feel overwhelming, especially during the days leading up to your cycle. The emotional highs and lows, irritability, and tension can weigh heavily on your mind and body. Tonight, let’s release that weight together. This meditation is a safe space to let go of emotional heaviness, embrace self-compassion, and welcome restful sleep.

Hi and welcome to your sleep meditation.

This guided practice is about letting go of emotional tension,

Releasing the weight and negativity that you've been carrying and inviting in deep,

Deep healing so that you can rest and restore as you drift into a peaceful sleep tonight.

My name is Caroline and I'm truly grateful to spend this time together.

Personally,

I struggle with ADHD and PMDD,

So I have written this guided meditation from the heart in the hope that it offers you relief and relaxation.

So take a moment to settle into your bed,

Place your body in a position that feels comfortable,

Listen to what your body needs in this moment.

Maybe you'd like to adjust your pillows and your blankets so that you feel cozy and supported.

This is your time to unwind and release and to allow your body and mind to return to a place of calm and balance.

So if it feels good for you,

You can softly close your eyes,

Just allow the eyelids to become heavy and then take a slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

Feeling your belly and your chest rising and then slowly exhale through the mouth,

Releasing all the tension from your day.

Feel your body soften with each breath.

Now take another deep breath in and this time,

Just hold it for a moment and as you exhale,

Let your shoulders drop,

Your arms relax and let your legs sink a little deeper into the mattress.

Allow your body to settle fully into the surface beneath you,

Knowing that right now there is nothing you need to do,

This is your time to heal,

To rest and to feel supported.

Just allow the breath to flow naturally now,

Without wanting to change or control it.

Now shift your awareness from the breath to your emotions.

Living with PMDD or severe PMS means that at times your emotions can feel like they are too much,

Too big,

Too overwhelming and often too intense to manage.

The days leading up to your period may leave you feeling very irritable,

Frustrated,

Anxious and even depressed.

You may feel like you're on edge,

Easily triggered or that the smallest thing can feel unbearable.

It's okay to feel this way,

You are not alone.

In this space,

There is no need to push away or to fight these feelings and emotions.

Tonight,

This is your time to release them with compassion and kindness towards yourself.

You don't need to hold on to them anymore,

It is safe to let go.

This is your time to release.

Now transport yourself to a beautiful,

Serene space.

Whether it's a quiet forest or a peaceful beach,

Or perhaps a green meadow surrounded by flowers,

Wherever you are,

This place feels completely safe and comforting,

And it's all yours.

The air is gentle and soothing,

And the sky above you is calm,

With soft stars twinkling in the night.

In the center of this space,

You spot a glowing light,

It's radiant and warm.

This light is here for you.

It represents emotional healing,

Peace,

And the balance that you've been longing for.

As you step closer to the light,

You feel its warmth surrounding you,

Wrapping you in a blanket of pure love and comfort.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Feel this glowing light begin to move into your body,

Soothing and healing every part of you.

Picture this soft,

Beautiful light gently entering your head.

Picture this soft,

Glowing light gently moving down your crown,

Moving down through your face,

Neck,

And shoulders.

As it flows through you,

It's releasing all the tension from the day,

The tightness in your jaw,

The tension in your neck,

The stiffness in your shoulders,

All of it begins to dissolve.

The light moves down into your chest and heart,

The place where so many of your emotions have been stored.

Feel this light cradling your heart,

Comforting you.

It is okay to feel what you feel.

There is no need to hide your emotions here.

This light is here to hold space for you as you heal.

With each breath,

Feel it gently pulling away any emotional heaviness,

Any sadness or frustration that has been building up.

Let this light move down through your abdomen,

Where tension can gather during this time in your cycle.

Let it release any discomfort,

Any tightness,

Leaving you feeling relaxed and peaceful.

Now let this healing light move down through your legs,

All the way down to your feet.

Feel your whole body becoming lighter,

As if the weight you've been carrying is melting away.

As you continue to rest deeply,

Surrounded by this comforting light,

Allow yourself to drift a level deeper into relaxation.

Your body feels soft,

Heavy and completely at ease.

Any emotional storms that you've been carrying are like waves gently lapping at the shore.

Quiet and steady,

You are safe here.

There is nothing to fear in this space.

You are supported,

Loved and held in peace.

I've recognized my strength and vulnerability.

I am open to exploring my emotions and spirit,

And connect deeply with my inner self.

I have powerful tools for self-discovery,

Of creating positive change in my life,

Emotional needs,

And take steps to nurture those needs.

I am in harmony with the universe and it supports my journey of creating positive change in my life and happiness,

Regardless of my circumstances.
