Hey there,
We're going to practice now a meditation on peace.
When you're ready find a comfortable seated position or lying position you could take any orientation for this practice.
You might like to close your eyes but you definitely don't have to.
Let your body come into a stable,
Receptive position as tensionless as possible but definitely supported.
When you're ready begin to tune into your breath.
Easy,
Natural,
Gentle breath.
You might notice as the breath enters your nostrils you can follow it with your attention so you can begin to feel your inner body.
You can feel down through the back of your throat,
Into your chest,
Into your belly.
Just seeing and sensing where you might be holding little pockets of tension or tightness.
Maybe there's an ache or a yearning.
And now bring to mind a time when you've felt very peaceful.
You might have a remembrance of feeling peace but no memory of it and that's perfect and if you have a memory of the peace and where you were and who you were with think on that,
Feel into that and maybe you don't remember peace per se but you know that peace is here for you and so I'm going to invite you now to begin to whisper the word shanti.
Just do that to yourself a few times and feel the vibration of that word entering your energy field.
You might breathe it down into your belly,
Let it go down with the breath and you might whisper shanti and feel shanti spread through your belly and through your hips.
Just keep repeating that that vibratory word into your body,
Into your whole body particularly the parts of your body that are not feeling that peaceful.
It might be a part of your body,
It could be a part of your life right now.
Feel the vibration fill your feet and your knees,
Your ankles and your hips,
Shanti through your legs into your buttocks and it might even come as a colour,
Maybe a vibration you might even hear a sound that you associate with shanti.
Feel shanti through the groins and the hips through the pubic bone and the sexual region and then feel shanti spread through the sacrum and the tissues of your lower back and feel shanti enter your spine,
The vertebra spreading out through each nerve ending.
Feel shanti permeate your organs,
Feel it fill your breasts and shanti filling your heart,
Your lungs,
Shanti washing through your shoulders and down your arms into your fingertips,
Shanti washing through your throat,
Shanti up into your head and your face.
See if you can soften your face so that it reflects the shanti,
The peace.
So even when we don't feel shanti we can practice,
We can cultivate shanti anytime we remember.
You might even say to yourself now I am shanti and as you gaze down into your body begin to see this most glorious tattoo on your spinal column written in the most beautiful writing S H A N T I Feel it echo through your body,
Feel it ripple into your energy field.
I am shanti begin to deepen your breath,
Wriggle your shanti fingers and toes,
Maybe bring your palms together your heart.
Om shanti shanti shanti.
Namaste.
